Omg the day went by in a flash! I blinked, and poof, it was gone, but wow, what a day it was. Well, what an amazing 3 days it was at the venue and a real whirlwind leading up to the weekend, filled with making up flower arrangements and steaming dresses, makeup and hair trials and catching up with amazing friends. We arrived at Quantock Lakes on the Friday afternoon to start the set-up. I had an amazing team consisting of my mum, dad, Harry’s parents and sister. Between us, we absolutely smashed it and got the venue looking exactly how I wanted it. I had made all the flower arrangements myself, and I was super chuffed with how they all turned out. It was an autumnal theme, with pumpkins, autumn trees, big flower stands and much more. It was everything I had worked on all coming together so beautifully. After set up it chucked it down just as people were starting to arrive, which wasn’t ideal but we just laughed about it and cracked on. Nothing a few beers and food couldn’t fix. We all gathered in the Granary House early evening to celebrate the day to come. And I must say the rain did not stop us from having a bbq 🤣 the best man and two of his mates said ‘you want a bbq, we will give you a bbq’ and my god they did. Standing out in the rain with an umbrella over the bbq. What legends! The morning of the wedding was peaceful and slow, allowing me to chill out and watch my bridesmaids get their hair and makeup done and give my gifts to the mothers and groomsmen. Then it was my time to sit in the chair and get glammed to the nines 🤩 I loved every minute of it! I don’t ever treat myself to many things but I knew I would go all out for the wedding day. After my makeup and hair were done, it felt as though the rest of the morning went by in a flash. Before I knew it I was getting my dress on with my amazing mum 🧡 this followed by a first look with my dad, who cried his eyes out (yaaaay, haha) and it was very emotional. I am his youngest daughter after all. Then I went downstairs and did the first look with my bridesmaids which was incredible! I was so excited to see their faces and they did not disappoint 🤩 Getting the girls lined up in front of me got those butterflies doing cartwheels in my stomach as I knew i was only moments away from walking towards my soul mate. Gripping hold of my dad’s arm with tears rolling down his cheeks, we turned the corner and I was beaming from ear to ear, especially when I saw Harry cry when he saw me (yaaay! Exactly what I wanted). Got to the end and gripped his arm so tight as the ceremony began. We both did our own vows which made every cry (there’s a theme here) but they were so beautiful and personal to us. The rest of the day consisted of amazing food, speeches that made everyone laugh and cry (there it is again) and lots of love and hugs from everyone. I could not have wished for better people to be at our wedding who all brought the absolute vibes to the day. The evening started off with my father in law on the decks playing some amazing tunes that got everyone on the dance floor, then it was our first dance. Now, Harry and I had only practiced the dance maybe 3 times before the big day but I am so proud of us for pulling it off as we choreographed our first dance to Luke Burr. It’s safe to say everyone enjoyed it as they were cheering so loudly. The rest of the evening consisted of dirty dancing moves, a lot of chicken wing arms, pretending to mow the grass moves and a lot of jumping and s**t dropping 🤣 we danced our shoes off (quite literally, thank god I purchased flip flops) until midnight and then went back to the house and all jumped in the pool 🙊 but what an epic way to end the evening! Gosh I wish I could do it all over again! I’m sure my bank balance wouldn’t but my heart was so full that day and I am going to hold onto that feeling forever. Sorry for the long post, but I honestly wanted to share some of the best parts to the day. There is so much more but got to keep some things a mystery 😝
