29 Aug, 2025Our Real Wedding
When Ethan and I were celebrating our two year anniversary in Berlin, we spent most of the day walking past suspiciously picturesque settings. Eventually, my feet started to ache, so we found a bench in the Tiergarten and that's where he decided to pop the question.
A few months later, we visited the Italian Villa to take a look around the venue. I had been there before, as a young teenager, and caught a glimpse of a couple getting married. That memory stuck with me ever since, so I couldn't not go take a look round. I knew I'd love it, but Ethan fell in love as well. We both knew it had to be the one. We made our booking for August, just before my birthday, and we were away.
A few months later, surrounded by my bridesmaids, mum and now mother-in-law, I found my dress. I will always remember the moment I got to say yes to the dress. Ethan, meanwhile, had found the perfect suit while we were at a wedding fayre. Somehow, we both managed to keep our outfits a secret from one another unit the big day.

We also included some lavender, my personal favourite, to match by bouquet. I opted for a dried bouquet which is now a beautiful feature of our home. Our cake was designed to match the flowers with dark green icing and gold decoations. We used the flowers from the ceremony to decorate the cake table.
My absolute favourite moment of the day was a quiet moment when myself and Ethan were sat at the sweetheart top table during the wedding breakfast. I hadn't said anthing but was just looking at Ethan...and it made him tear up. There are some great photos of my dying of laughter while he fights back the tears.
