I specialise in relaxed, natural wedding photography, telling the story of your special day as it unfolds so you can look back on it and cherish the memories for years to come. My approach is, first and foremost, to encourage you to be yourselves and enjoy your special day without the pressure of having to pose for everything. Instead, I'll quietly guide you through the day and give gentle direction only when it's needed. That way, you can relax and enjoy your day while I capture all those amazing memories and create stunning images for you to look back on.

I've been photographing weddings for over 25 years, but I'm always struck by how different each one is, and it's this uniqueness which I want to capture. I'm always happy to chat, so please get in touch and let me know about your plans.

How far in advance should I contact you?

It's always helpful to have as much notice as possible but happy on last minute requests if I'm free on that day

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

No

Can you travel?

Yes, ayrshire, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Lothian, Edinburgh, Stirling, Fife, Dundee, Borders, Perthshire, Argyll, Loch Lomond

What is the charge for travelling?

My prices include Central Scotland. I'll advise before you book if there are any other travel costs

What kind of technology do you use?

Digital

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?

I take natural, candid photos and encourage couples to be themselves rather than arrange lots of posed shots

What kind of equipment do you use?

2x Nikon D-850's with lenses and portable lighting

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

Yes, online gallery via my own website

What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

1 month

Do you send all the photos taken?

No

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Yes

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

The full day package is from the bridal preparations up to the first few dances which usually works out at about 10 hours. After this I charge £100 an hour

What are the forms of payment?

£200 deposit and the balance one month before the wedding

How do you work?

I work in a very relaxed, natural way very often in the background taking candid shots

Richard is just brilliant!

Richard was incredible from start to finish, he made both of us feel so comfortable throughout the whole day and in the build up.. Richard’s photos are incredibly natural and capture the raw emotions of the entire day. We couldn’t be happier with how they have turned out and would recommend Richard without a second thought. Captured perfectly

We are so happy we chose Richard to be our wedding photographer. He made it all soo relaxing and captured the most perfect moments in real time. We wanted relaxed candid pictures and he totally understood this. We absolutely love our wedding photographs and so do all our family and friends can’t recommended him enough!

Richard was great. We initially spoke over the phone, when we met in person he was attentive to everything we requested and were looking for. On the day, he showed up on time and was nothing short of great. His experience was in full effect as he helped us through the day.
