After 3 dates changes and a photographer that vanished, me and my fiancé were a bit deflated. I went out online looking for another photographer, and that’s when Rachael messaged me. From the very first message, I know we would book Gary. Rachael doing all the admin and keeping in touch is just a breath of fresh air! It works! Rachael responded to our mails almost instantly, and even phoned me to help out when needed! We had a zoom meeting with Gary and he is honestly the funniest and loveliest guy, he took all the time necessary to understand us and exactly what we wanted.
On the day, gary arrived exactly when he said he would, and from then on he was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and he went away doing his own thing to capture all the small details we wanted.
Gary then kept everyone entertained doing the photos AND videography (the man works hard I tell ya) and he was brilliant with all the kids including our little boy.
We got our previews in a matter of days after the wedding, and just over a week later we have everything including video.
Everyone is beyond amazed with the video and photos - both us and our families have cried numerous times rewatching it all!
Gary honestly took his time to get everything perfect, while being efficient and hardly noticeable, I am honestly stumped as to how he done it!!
I genuinely can’t thank you both enough, you’re a dream team that managed to capture our dream day exactly how we wanted. You’re both one in a million.

Amazing photographer
Gary was the photographer and videographer for our wedding at Balbirnie House in May 2024. From the start of contact Rachael could not have been more lovely, accommodating and helpful in answering all of my questions as well as replying in a fast timely manor! We had a pre wedding meeting with Gary who detailed everything we wanted as well as discussing how the day would unfold. On the day itself Gary was absolutely brilliant! He was full of ideas and enthusiasm and made the day and our forever photos and film so special. Gary’s relaxed attitude and capturing candid moments helped us feel so at ease during our day.
We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family and wish them both all the best in the future with their business.

We booked Gary James Photography for our wedding at Enterkine house in October 2023.
From the very first moment we booked we had constant dialogue and they were so easy to keep in contact with via WhatsApp and email. We also had a meeting with Gary a month or two before the big day where he covered every single detail and left no stone un turned to make sure nothing was missed. They were genuinely the only supplier we didn't have to chase up ourselves as they always messaged us to keep us right and answer any questions.
Gary was an absolute star on the day and captured everything from start to finish and covered both wedding party's getting ready himself which was good going as they were about a mile apprat lol. Nothing was too much trouble for him he even helped the boys tieing their laces the right way on their kilt socks! He then captured everything from the ceremony throughout the whole day up until the 4th or 5th song of the evening reception and even having to think fast to dodge a couple of rain showers in the afternoon. Gary took time to speak to all our guests and each and everyone of them commented on how lovely he was and how easy he made the whole process feel.
At no point did any of the photos feel like a chore as Gary had a brilliant process of getting them done smoothly and efficiently.
After the wedding Rachel was so so helpful, we were only expecting a few preview shots but within a couple of days we had around 60-70 photos which we were absolutely blown away with. Nothing was too much to ask and all our questions were answered straight away. We absolutely loved the style and editing straight away of our photos but we had the option to change it if we wanted which is great.
We now have our full gallery and USB and we absolutely love them and still look at them almost every day. Gary's style of photos is exactly what we have always wanted for our wedding since the day we got engaged, he absolutely nailed it.
Gary and Rachel are honestly the best and we can't thank them enough for everything they done for us -

Amazing dream team!
We got married in September 2023 and Gary and Rachael have been amazing throughout the whole process, so helpful, such nice down to earth people and they make such a great team! Rachael was the first vendor we spoke to over the phone and she put us at ease and helped us so much, as soon as we came off the phone we knew that Gary James Photography was who we were going to go with! Every stage they have kept us informed and the pre-wedding meeting was so thorough and they were able to help us plan out the day and what was going to happen, down to every detail! This was the first time we met Gary and we just clicked!! When it came down to the day Gary was on ball, he was everywhere, keeping us calm, speaking to our guests and everyone just loved him! He did exactly every picture I asked for and was so creative with the pictures too! And finally when it came to pictures and videos - WOW! What can I say but WOW! They are everything and more of what we envisaged for our wedding and they will be memories to keep forever and show hopefully our kids one day! It’s sad the process is over now but looking forward hopefully to again work with Rachael and Gary in the studio someday! They are such an amazing team and would highly recommend anyone to use them for any video/photography! -

Where do I even start with this review. I can not thank Gary and Rachel enough for everything
From point of enquiring and booking with them they cared about us and what we wanted. It was that, that encouraged us to book in the first place. What I never expected is when my wedding venue went into liquidation they would be on hand for support advice and also so adaptable with me moving venue. Rachel was like my very own wedding councillor
Then the day itself was amazing Gary is like some sort of stealth ninja all over the place getting photos I don’t even know how he managed to get all over the ceremony room without anyone noticing. When I looked back at the pictures I couldn’t believe half the images he got. He was unreal so creative and so caring to what we wanted.
Which made all the difference.
Then the end result oh my actual god I can’t get over how amazing they are!! I am so in love with all my wedding picture. Not only did the photos exceed all expectations they also came quicker than I could believe which was such a nice touch that I had my preview straight away and then the gill lot well before I thought I would. Gary expertly catered to everything we need and wanted. Even my
Friends and family keep talking about what a legend he was
I really liked how I ended up chatting back and forth so much with Rachel she was like a friend. Such a great personal service.
Best wedding photographer ever and the most loveliest couple. I would recommend to anyone 10/10 all day. Thanks so much for all you did for us xx -

I actually don't have enough words to explain how amazing Gary and Rachel were, not just at our wedding but the lead up and afterwards.
I found them through a Google search and called for a chat. without meeting them I was ready to book because Rachel was so lovely and chatty and really put my mind at ease about the booking process.
the Comms have been superb from newsletter updates,emails and even some Instagram patter.
on the day Gary was great at putting everyone at ease, gave us clear instructions on what we needed to do and even helped with some of the getting ready process, despite his chicken attack 😂
we got our images less than 2 weeks later and every single shot was fab and we loved our videos.
they really helped make our day perfect and we can't thank them enough ❤️ -

We got married in June and Gary and Rachael have been truly amazing right from the moment we booked them! We met them at the Scottish Wedding Fair and were drawn to them as they are so friendly and down to earth. Communication right through from booking to recently receiving our album has been fantastic and it was so reassuring to know they were so planned and organised, this left us with peace of mind that we could count on them to keep us on track ahead of and on our special day.
Gary was brilliant on the day, he was so calm and chilled despite the number of family and friends shots we requested. We genuinely don't know how he managed to take so many photos alongside the videos, he truly captured every moment of our special day which means so much!
Despite it being peak season our preview was delivered to us after a few days and our full gallery and videos we shared within a week, we were lucky enough to be on honeymoon when we received these and it made our evening when we received them! Gary captured a wide variety of different shots from formal family ones to really natural ones and we can't thank you enough for all the amazing photos you took- the quality of the photos are fab and the colours are so vibrant!
Rachael did a fantastic job sharing our gallery and editing the videos, along with managing to squeeze all the photos we wanted into our album! Our album is stunning and we are enjoying showing this to all our friends and family.

Gary was fantastic on our day listened to all our bonkers ideas which a lot of photographers dont.
the photos were back to us quickly and great shots of us.
He captured our day really well.
