The most frustrating thing about all of this, is that I would have really hoped to be leaving a 5 star review. Like many others, we spent a lot of time, carefully choosing the right wedding photographer. We paid Craig, in full, up front, and then he 'forgot' and failed to show up on the day.
There is enough stress on the day already, then you find yourself left without a photographer, and most importantly, without the memories captured, moments that you have spent over a year planning. We are very reasonable people. In fact, we noticed a previous review about Craig, fairly troubling one to be honest, about him getting black out drunk at a previous job. We decided not to write him off, but to ask his version of events, and whilst we still felt a bit uneasy, we figured it was 1 review, and mistakes happen. And regarding mistakes, the worst thing about all of this was not the fact that he failed to show up to capture our wedding. I still have the 'mistakes happen' mindset, and that's life.
The reason for the review, is that this mistake is still being dragged out, still dampening our wedding day, and still causing us stress and pain, because Craig has still not returned the full payment we made in advance. It's been 8 weeks of chasing, and 8 weeks of listening to their, frankly, unprofessional 'excuses.' We are being forced into a civil lawsuit in order to get what is owed to us. Following the day, we were given a sea of reasons as to why he failed to attend, and why he forgot, and given we had a video call with him the week of the wedding, this didn't really fly. As for why he cannot return the money, well, lack of work (apparently, more on that later). I could go on, but this is not your business anymore than it was ours. Since my partner left his review, Craig seems to have had a flurry of 5 star reviews, so either these are very much fake, or he is in fact working, and still not paying us the money back. I'm not sure which is worse.
This has almost become comical to me now, but the reality is just not funny at all. So much time and energy into creating an unforgettable day, completely hindered by one persons inability to manage their time. We will always remember our ceremony, even without the photos that we had banked on, but we will also always remember the absolute farce that followed, all of which would have been avoided if this person had just returned the money to us right away, allowing us to put the matter to bed and not have to think about it and re live it, over and over again. We overlooked the negative review that we saw, we chose to believe in the person, we trusted Craig. I would urge if you're reading this to really think about whether or not you want to take the risk. -

Absolutely loved Craig Robert’s for our wedding! Would definitely recommend!
Hired Craig to photograph our wedding and I have to say one of the best things I did. Not only was he welcoming, relaxed and very personable but made all of the chaos of taking photos very easy and smooth. Was budget friendly and very understanding. Took his time to get the extra details and got some beautiful candids.
Craig went above and beyond what we had agreed with absolutely no concern for himself his only thought being that our wedding and all our most treasured memories were captured. He absolutely caught our drift with what we were looking for and was so friendly with all our guests, communication was brilliant and was so quick to edit and send over our beautiful photos! -

I can not express how thrilled we are with Craig's photography and the entire service he delivered. Craig is such an engaging, warm and flexible person - I knew from our first meeting that we would feel comfortable having him around us capturing intimate and relaxed images, and I'd already seen how dramatic and modern his photography was, so I was sold instantly.
When he arrived to join me during the morning preparations, he was perfectly discrete, quietly chatting with my friends and relaxing us all. He could not have been more agile and fun when he was jumping on and off a golf buggy round Battersea Park with my husband and I to capture as many iconic shots as timing would allow! So many of my guests commented on what a fabulous photographer he was - both in terms of his art, and how he engaged with everyone in such a charming way. It was a genuine pleasure having Craig join us in our 'perfect' day.
Craig's offer is excellent value - within 1 week, we had a selection of highlights to share, and within 1 month, all the images had been beautifully edited and there were hundreds of them. We have so enjoyed browsing through them with friends and family. I am not sure how many hours of my life I have already spent pouring over them, and I haven't even got round to framing any yet!
