Kirstin Shearer Photography can be found in the Orkney Isles, in the north of Scotland. Deciding to transform her hobby into a career, Kirstin has combined passion, experience, and upskilling to start the business we now know as Kirstin Shearer Photography.
Knowledge:
While working in a photo lab, Kirstin learned the ins and outs of cameras and equipment. After committing to a life of taking pictures, she took the initiative to complete a wedding photography course to provide the best service possible.
Style:
Opting for a documentary style of photography, Kirstin favours capturing the smaller moments that make up the day. Think of uncontrollable laughter, stolen glances, kisses, and hugs; these are the things that create the atmosphere of love. With the stunning keepsakes Kirstin will take, you will be left with memories to treasure and relive for a lifetime.

Kirstin covers intimate weddings and elopements across the Highlands and Islands and the UK. She offers bespoke wedding packages to suit a variety of needs and budgets. Options include an engagement/adventure session, up to 12 hours of event coverage, professional editing services, and a selection of lovely albums, parent books, and prints.

Capture your wedding journey with full coverage, including an engagement shoot, online gallery, personalised USB, and a luxury album with 10 exquisite spreads (valued at £600) to relive your memories
How far in advance should I contact you?
In order to give an excellent experience to each of my couples, I take on a strictly limited number of weddings per year. Please do contact me as soon as possible if you are keen to secure your date

The perfect wedding photographer
Firstly, we could not recommend Kirstin highly enough. From the start, she was very responsive and professional in her communications. On the day itself, she really went above and beyond, not only snapping countless stunning and special photographs, but also providing a helping hand. It was like having another lifelong friend there - a comment which all of the bridal party and many of the guests also made. When the weather allowed, Kirstin whisked us away in her car to our chosen shoot locations. She did an amazing job at guiding us on how to stand and move, and the resulting photos are stunning - we can't believe they are us! Throughout the entire day, she managed to take so many natural, happy photos of our family and friends, which was important to us. She delivered the gallery extremely quickly as well. I am not sure how she did it all, but she did, and we are so grateful for it.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect photographer to capture our intimate elopement in Orkney. A one of a kind photographer!
Kirstin captured everything on our wedding day beautifully - from the big, emotional, beautiful moments to the smaller, delicate details I worried would go unnoticed. She is a true professional - an excellent communicator, extremely adaptable (we got married in a storm!) and, of course, an exceptionally talented photographer. One of the main reasons we knew Kirstin was the right photographer for us was due to her beautiful style: natural, real and timeless. All these qualities are reflected in our wonderful gallery (which was also delivered so promptly). From the moment we booked her to the very last shot, she was attentive, kind, fun and caring. She's also the sweetest person in the world and makes everyone around her smile - we have lost count of the number of our guests who have commented on how much they loved her too. We felt more as if one of our friends spent the day snapping away as it all felt so fun, relaxed and real! We will forever be grateful we picked Kirstin and couldn't recommend her enough ❤️

Great to work with
Kirstin was great to work with. She knew how to capture natural moments as well as getting poses that worked without feeling awkward. Kirstin worked well with our guests and managed to capture everything we wanted from our day. I would not hesitate to recommend Kirstin and feel lucky to have had her as part of our day.

A Fairy Tale Come True
It’s quite a rare occurrence these days to meet a person who truly belongs in their trade. Kirstin has an astounding level of natural talent behind the camera that is quite apparent when you see her art. There’s a magic eye that only a select few individuals possess. However, the formula which truly makes her photography magical is that her natural talent is transcended only by her compassion and sincerity. Kirstin’s level of immersion created a heartfelt synergy for our photoshoot that otherwise wouldn’t have been as tangible with a more, “mechanical” photographer. Between scampering in circles around us while capturing all the different angles, to instructing us in our stances for all the perfect poses, to staying out with us until dark because we were just simply having so much fun, Kirstin provided an absolutely unparalleled experience. Phenomenal in every way!
Kirstin was perfect! From the very start she was easy to book, figure out dates/times/etc. and really easy to contact! We met up a few days before our wedding and it was like meeting up with an old friend. She “got” us immediately and we knew we were in good hands. Fast forward to the day and she was a constant source of comfort and calm amidst the emotional whirlwind of the wedding and her added personal touches and comforts meant the world to us! On top of all that, she took the most incredible photos, and we received all of them within a few days! With Kirstin you will always be in good hands and we are happy to recommend her to anyone for any event!

Engagement and Wedding shoot.
Kirstin was amazing throughout our shoots and always had ideas of where we should go and how to stand etc. Always positive and enthusiastic making us feel so special! Cannot believe how quick she delivered our gallery. It was the next day! Would definitely recommend.

No need to look elsewhere, Kirstin is the real deal!
From the moment we ‘met’ Kirstin over FaceTime, there was an instant connection between the three of us, and we knew that the day of our wedding was going to be special. What we didn’t know was that Kirstin was going to become such a central part to the whole day. Not only did she take the most beautiful photographs that captured the spirit of the entire day, but she also added to every part of it. It was like spending time with a friend. We laughed, we cried, and the entire session was pure joy from start to finish. We honestly can’t recommend her enough and are constantly thinking of what we can do just to have the excuse to have her come take pictures again. Thank you, Kirstin.
