About Us

My name is James Matthews. I'm an unobtrusive and colourful Wedding Photographer based in Caerphilly, South Wales, with over 30 years of Photography experience.

If you're looking for a wedding photographer specialising in capturing natural moments, you've found the right place!

While I understand that you may still want some portraits or group shots, and that's not a problem, I excel in capturing the essence of your wedding through a documentary style. This allows you to fully enjoy your special day without needing posed pictures. Most of my shots happen incredibly fast and in available light, capturing the vibrant, genuine, and captivating moments that will transport you back to your wedding day.

Rates

HOURLY RATE
(3 Hrs Minimum)​£125 per hour on weekends and bank holidays £100 per hour on weekdays​

I aim to provide approximately 50 edited images per hour of photography time booked. However, circumstances on the day will dictate the number of images taken.

  • You decide the hours of coverage.
  • All supplied images are edited and colour-corrected.
  • Travel costs 50 miles from Caerphilly are also included.
  • Digital copies are uploaded to a beautiful online gallery.
  • Full access to download images for up to 12 months
  • Ready in 14 days or less

Photo journalism

What kind of technology do you use?

Digital

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?

Modern relaxed photo-journalistic style photographs to capture those moments. We don't use or work with photograph lists or expect you to jump about for the photographs

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use Canon and Leica professional full-frame cameras and lenses on your wedding day. We will also use portable lights if we have to

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

Yes, web based gallery to purchase professional developed prints direct to you

What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

1 month

Do you send all the photos taken?

No

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Yes

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

Do you charge per hour or per event?

How do you charge extra time?

We provide a price based on service requirements. The price will include travel and some extra time to allow for the service or meal that may run late. We don't clock watch

What are the forms of payment?

Credeit card, bank transfer and PayPal

How do you work?

My style of photography is a modern documentary style with the minimal interaction. I’m happy to do a few shots of family or friends as requested but I dont pose people

So happy with eyes2me-wedding photographer

So we had our pictures off jim only 2 weeks after the wedding and there are 848 beautifully edited photographs ( we had a preview to post a thank you only 2 days after.

I am so in love with them and I never like photographs with me in them. I keep tearing up!!!! amazing!!! Can’t recommend enough-there are no words for the memories that have been captured for us - all without having to stand and smile for hours!! So many people from our wedding said how comfortable they were with having jim around. I normally hate photographs of me but I can honestly say I love them!

As a bride I always liked to read the reviews of venders before booking and I, as a recent bride can tell you 100% you won’t regret the decision to book Jim and eyes2me as your photographer, this is the best thing I chose, someone told me before I got married “flowers die but memories last a lifetime”. Memories were captured beautifully.

Incredible!

There are no words to fully describe the experience of having Jim take your photos, he made my kids laugh and have fun whilst we were all getting into our dresses, he fitted in as if he had been invited as a guest to join our day. He was relaxed, composed, went with the flow of the day and the photos speak for themselves.
We were delighted to have you and will recommend you for a long time 😊

Absolutely amazing

Me and my husband really don't feel we are really photogenic. Jim was amazing putting us all at ease. Listening and understanding what we wanted. Such a quick service too our photo's are amazing and really highlight our special day . Thank you so much Jim

Lee and I would like to thank Jim for his time and work, providing us with fantastic photographs of our wedding. Jim captured every moment as it happened. We didn't want formal photographs and Jim got all the funny and informal moments and emotions that can be lost or forgotten. Jim is so friendly and all our friends and family have said how good he was. We have a beautiful heart shaped USB that is so unusual and we can print our pictures when we are ready. Eyes2me tailored the price and package to us and we are so grateful. We can highly recommend Jim, he was fantastic and so are our photos.

Me and my partner would love to thank Jim and Kimberley for doing our photos for our wedding day. Brilliant people who did a fantastic job on our day, and made us feel really comfortable. I recommend anyone to have Eyes2me photography for their wedding. Good price and great photos which all our family and friends love. And we received them so quickly after. They were also a great help with everything before the wedding and after.
Jim was also a great help for making me feel more confident with having my picture taken with a practice trial, which helped so much before the day.

Jim and his Wife were fantastic at our wedding, totally professional but also totally unobtrusive, we did not even know they were there. The photos were stunning and absolutely captured our fantastic day. The after service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Eyes2Me to anybody who wants to capture those special formal and informal moments.

We would both like to thank Jim and his wife Kim for all their hard work on our wedding day. Although they were there for the whole day and the evening party we barely noticed them. When we picked up the wedding photos we were extremely happy with all of them, they have managed to capture our big day perfectly. We love every single photo and were so impressed with the extra little touches that made the whole experience something really special. We wanted natural photos rather than structured ones and this was done perfectly. We would definitely recommend them to all our friends and family not only were the quality of the photos and the experience perfect but also the price!!
