Based in the Highlands near Inverness, Adventure Wedding Scotland is a photography and content creation business specialising in weddings and elopements set on mountaintops, remote windswept beaches, hidden forest glens, and venues that offer shelter from the ever-changing Scottish elements. If you’re looking for a relaxed photographer and/or content creator who captures high-quality photos, reels, and intimate moments — and who can also adapt effortlessly to spontaneous moments or unexpected plan changes — you’re in the right place!
With over four years of experience photographing weddings, elopements, and couple shoots across Scotland, from the Highlands and Islands to the Borders, I bring a calm, flexible approach to every celebration.
Services Offered
Adventure Wedding Scotland covers everything from one-hour couple photoshoots to full-day wedding coverage of 12 hours or more. Services include photography, content creation (highlight videos, reels, and stories), or a hybrid package where I work as both photographer and content creator on your big day. Whatever your plans, I’d love to be part of your adventure and help you tell your story.

How far in advance should I contact you?
Whether it's the day before or three years in advance, I'd love to hear what you have in mind! Generally speaking earlier is better, so that I'm not already booked and so that we have time to discuss

Great Photographer, Even Better Person. Hire Sam Without Hesitation!
Having just been through the nerve wracking process of hiring vendors you barely know, l can make this decision easy for you. Sam's skills speak for themselves. Take a look at his photographs and you will know whether you like his style. What is far more difficult is knowing the person behind the camera. Sam was absolutely perfect as our wedding photographer. He is incredibly friendly and easy to get along with. Our wedding was fairly small, but every single person there commented on how they "love Sam", he was immediately part of the family. We are pretty sure our flower girl was already planning her wedding to Sam (sorry, he is taken). There were times during important moments, when we didn't even realize he was there, quietly snapping sensitive memories. At other times when a little more direction was needed, he did it in a way that was clear, easy to follow, and felt like a friend just guiding you where you were supposed to be and never awkward or uncomfortable. If you are thinking he might be right for you, just go for it, we couldn't be more pleased with our decision to hire Sam.

Made Our Elopement!
I can’t thank Sam enough for making our wedding day that little bit extra special! He made such extra effort throughout the entire process, sending photos of different locations and suggestions plus anything I needed to clarify or guide me to a location that had everything we wanted and needed from the photos.
Me and my partner eloped with just us and Sam honestly brought the vibes, brought good laughs and everything in between.
If you are in or around Scotland I can’t recommend him enough!! His photos are beautiful and he really does capture the best in every location you go too!

Absolute Pro!
Sam was excellent - would recommend him very highly indeed. He was responsive, friendly, and flexible from the start and things only got better. We met to scope out the venue together a few months ahead of the big day and got on really well. He was interested in all the details to make sure he captured what we were hoping for, and he absolutely nailed it on the day. He seemed to be everywhere yet never in the way. His commitment was clear and multiple guests complemented his professionalism to us. The photos themselves reflect those observations. I don't think we could have asked for better.

Amazing photographer for a wild and rainy adventure!
Sam was absolutely perfect for our rainy hiking adventure elopement on the Isle of Skye! He brought just the right adventurous spirit for a day in some pretty wild conditions, and we had a blast together on the day hiking in the rain, running around on the beach, and scrambling down to waterfalls. The photos capture the moody adventurous vibe of the day so beautifully, we're so thrilled with how they turned out! Every bit of the day was captured and it feels like being there when we look through the photos. Sam was all around just great and easy going to work with, and got our huge gallery of photos back to us so quickly! An ideal photographer for an adventurous day where you can just go with the flow and have a great time :)

Above and Beyond!
I cannot recommend Sam from Adventure Weddings Scotland highly enough. Planning an engagement from the USA to take place in Edinburgh, Scotland was no small feat, but finding Sam on Instagram was one of the best decisions I made.
From the start, Sam was professional, thoughtful, and easy to communicate with. We connected over Skype before our trip to go over all the details, and he offered insightful suggestions that helped shape the moment into something even more special.
Unfortunately, I got sick the day of the proposal and had to reschedule. Sam was incredibly understanding and more than accommodating, shifting our session to the next day without hesitation.
When the day finally came, he went above and beyond. What was originally planned as a shoot at Calton Hill turned into a full-on adventure through Holyrood Park. Even with rain falling around us, the experience was magical — the weather only added to the atmosphere and made it more memorable.
Sam captured the essence of the moment perfectly. Not only is he a talented photographer, but he also has a great eye for natural beauty, an adventurous spirit, and a calming presence that made the entire experience feel effortless.

Great Experience and Breathtaking Photos!
Working with Sam was a great pleasure! I hired Sam to photographically document the engagement with my partner. And what can I say: the photos are breathtaking - I couldn't imagine a better memory of this moment.
Sam was 100% responsive to my wishes and ideas, the arrangements in advance ran smoothly and were realised absolutely perfectly. And this despite the fact that I had one or two special requests that would normally fall outside the scope of traditional photographer services. Simply fantastic.
