Scotia Strings provides it’s services for locations across Scotland, the UK and Europe,

Excellent wedding packages are available, and you can easily personalise them to meet your individual budgets and desires.

They can provide enchanting music for your entire day, from your ceremony to your drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and everything in between.

We can play for as little or as much of your wedding as you would like. We can play for your ceremony, drink's reception and wedding breakfast

How far in advance should I contact you?

The earlier, the better. We don't need your music choices until a couple of months before your wedding

As part of our price, we include one arrangement of a piece of your choosing. If there is a piece you love and it's not on our playlist, just ask and we will happily find it for you

What's your experience?

Edinburgh Castle, Glasgow City Chambers, Gleneagles, St Andrews Old Course and Murrayfield. Clients have included BBC, Scotland's First Minister, HRH Queen Elizabeth II and Glasgow's Lord Provost

Is there a charge for travelling?

Yes, no travel for within 20 miles of St Andrews. Fuel expenses thereafter

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

No

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

What is the length of time of the act?

This depends on which option you choose

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

We arrive aound 45 minutes prior to the start time. We ask for music choices around two months prior to the wedding

Do you do open-air acts?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

We will do our very best to adjust timings to suit. If we need to charge for extra time, this is usually charged for each additional 15 minutes

What are the forms of payment?

There is a £150 deposit to book and the balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding

Absolutely magical!

We booked Scotia Strings as a duo for our wedding day at Balbirnie House. Scotia have been excellent to deal with, every email or query answered so efficiently, even when we were forced to rearrange our wedding to a different date, this was all done with ease - stress free! The strings sounded amazing and made the ceremony magical, scotia made my visions a reality. Everyone commented on how beautiful the songs were! Great value also! Thank you all at Scotia, memories that will last forever.

Perfect addition to our wedding

Lizzie performed solo cello as our guests arrived and for the ceremony and it was perfect. Very professional and sounded great. We asked ahead of the wedding for a few music pieces (not listed on their website) that we wanted and it was not a problem. Highly recommended

Excellent service all round

A string Quartet was something that my new wife and i really wanted for our wedding but we did not think that we would find one within our budget. We were pleasantly suprised when we found and researched Scotia. We could afford them and found the samples were exactly what we wanted for our big day! The musicians on the day were excellent and really added the cherry on top of our beautiful service. It's a 5 stars from us

Beautiful and patient

Played beautifully. I was an hour late and they waited. Played everything I asked for and more. Communication was excellent, better than most other suppliers. Highly recommend.

Scotia Strings are an all round top tier / highly professional strings company - you will not regret choosing this company to add a special touch to your big day!

After researching numerous suppliers, we decided to hire a string trio via Scotia Strings and we're incredibly glad that we did! They added the perfect touch to our wedding at Cameron House in Loch Lomond on 03/03/23. Scotia performed pre-ceremony, during the ceremony and an hour afterwards for the post drinks reception. Our guests were really impressed; as were we.

Scotia offer a 360° Professional service from first point of engagement with the company via email (Lizzy), all the way through to the big day. They have a huge selection of songs to chose from spanning numerous genres and were fully open to us choosing a selection of specific songs to fit each part of the occasion. Lizzy also went above and beyond when I had requested (at short notice) if it would be possible to add a song which had not been featured on their list. We were really impressed and are very grateful of their service.

Wonderful!

Scotia Strings was truly a wonderful addition to our elopement ceremony!

My husband and I wanted live music for our first dance and Scotia Strings came all the way to Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland to play for us!

We hired them as a duo (violin and cello) and were simply blown away by their talent! They are very accommodating and communicative. I would highly recommend Scotia Strings if you are in need of live music for your special event in the UK!

Pop covers!

A beautiful experience, very professional.

I absolutely loved this group and would highly recommend them for weddings, birthdays, funerals and any celebrations.
They are professional and take care to help you choose suitable music for the occasion.
They have wide repertoire and are very adaptable. They are also highly trained musicians.

Stunning music and such a friendly group!

Scotia String Trio played before and during our wedding ceremony. We decided to use them after seeing them at a friends wedding as they play stunning music and such fun covers! They have a HUGE list of songs to choose from- classics to fun covers and they even learned a new one for our wedding! Great job and thank you so much Scotia!

A lovely touch!

It was a lovely touch having them playing during our ceremony. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was! Lizzy was able to also customize her playlist to cater for our music tastes which was great - we had a lot of fun choosing the music!
