TLDR version: Marvelous Disco made our wedding reception an absolute blast, we had an amazing time our guests likewise to the point where we struggled to sit down the entire night and half of our evening food didn’t get touched. He delivered everything we asked for, intuited what we didn’t and was incredibly calm reliable and quick to correspond with along the way. Couldn’t recommended him more highly.
If you are actually planning a wedding and would appreciate a bit more detail about our experience please keep reading. Especially if you are like us and had heard a few horror stories about DJs going rogue over the years:
Ultimately Simon gives you exactly as much creative control as you want to have. What we wanted was to have a big say on the playlist and someone else to curate it, order it and mix it on the night responding to the crowd as they saw fit. This is exactly what he did. His website allowed us to request more than enough music in advance you could categorise it into must play and please play. You could share it with your guests and even put some songs on a banned playlist in advance.
When it came to the set itself, Simon very much let the music do the talking, we gave him a very eclectic mix from the Beegees to Northern soul to Sean Paul to Tenacious D
and back again and he deployed it all perfectly in a great order at just the right time- reading the room perfectly. I think there was only one song he played that we didn’t specifically request and it was a banger that we couldn’t believe we hadn’t thought of ourselves. Importantly, he is also a really talented DJ. The mixing was genuinely creative with some really cool transitions that guests appreciated and made comment on in the moment. Finally, the unexpected bonus is that Simon records the set, so you can listen to it after which we have been doing on repeat and the fact that we’ve been able to relive some of the moments via his videos on instagram was also a really appreciated extra. He’s also just a really sound guy (pun intended) who was really easy to correspond with. Go book him!Marvellous Disco's reply:

Excellent communication and service from the very first interaction. The main appeal for us was the ability to select our own songs which Simon accommodated and made our night perfect, we did not leave the dance floor that often because the music and mix of songs put together by Simon was better than we could have hoped.
Superb value for money, the customer portal makes payment straight forward and selecting songs so straight forward into categories. It was not difficult or mundane choosing the songs and placing them into the appropriate categories, it was streamlined and really enjoyable to use.
An extra feature that we also loved was the fact that Simon records the wedding playlist for you to play at a latter date which we have done.... Many many times. Cracking feature!
Such a genuine lovely guy who helped our night run smoothly even though the marquee was the hottest place on planet earth.
Cannot thank Simon enough for making our day beyond perfect. We highly recommend him!! -

Marvellous Disco are a fantastic choice for your wedding. Helpful right from the start, they have their own site to add requests on for the months leading up to it and really help lead the reception. 100% would use again for any other parties we have.

We hired Simon for our wedding in May at Ellingham Hall, as he was one of their recommended suppliers, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
We really loved how easy it was to add our chosen songs through the online playlist system before the wedding — it made the whole process so simple and personal.
The service throughout was absolutely brilliant. He kept the dance floor full all night and created such a great atmosphere. His set up looked fantastic in the venue too.

We booked Simon after he was DJ for our friends wedding in 2024 so we knew he was great from start but honestly the night was amazing!
Simon was quick to respond to any queries we had, was friendly and professional and the online system for making playlists was so easy to use.
We had made quite a mixed list of songs but simon made it flow so perfectly knowing exactly what was going to keep the dance floor full all night. The amount of songs available is fantastic and made making the playlist that much easier as there's something for everyone! The evening do was absolutely fantastic and Simon was one of the main reasons! Highly recommend 👌Marvellous Disco's reply:

Booked Simon for our wedding, couldn't recommend his service enough. It was easy to select our song choices on his website and easy to communicate with him on WhatsApp. He also organised our silent disco which was fantastic and ran seamlessly on the night, the equipment was top notch.Marvellous Disco's reply:
