Essential DJ Sounds is a wedding DJ service based in London, England. Owner Tim Phillips has been a professional DJ for over a decade, and he has performed at many premier venues throughout London and Kent. He will liaise with you before the big day to ensure that he delivers an entertainment experience that reflects your unique vision. Essential DJ Sounds is the home of world-class entertainment, and Tim wants to give you and your guests a night you’ll never forget.

Services Offered

Essential DJ Sounds offers a range of packages designed to suit celebrations of all sizes. Package features and options include background music, microphones for your ceremony and speeches, and a selection of dance floors, photo booths, backdrops, lighting solutions, and more. Tim’s vast music library includes hit songs from yesterday and today, and he is happy to take requests on the night. Tim’s equipment is PAT tested, and he carries public liability insurance for your peace of mind.

Incredible DJ, would recommend!

From the moment of enquiring with Tim he was super professional and efficient. He was down to earth and approachable. This was my first event let alone organising my wedding and was nervous. He put my mind at ease from the get go! Spoke to the venue to coordinate and extremely proactive and self-sufficient! We can not thank you enough, had everyone dancing constantly and had the most amazing time. We would recommend to anyone looking for a great DJ with no hassle or messing around! An unforgettable event!

I was honestly anxious about the music for our wedding reception because our guest list was so diverse, and I couldn't imagine a playlist that would please everyone. Planning music for a diverse group felt like an impossible task, but Tim made it look effortless. He kept the dance floor packed the entire night, seamlessly blending genres so every single person had a blast. So many of our friends and family commented on how incredible the set was and how much fun they had dancing the night away. Tim created an unforgettable atmosphere that people will be talking about for years, and we cannot recommend him highly enough!

​On top of that, Tim was an absolute pleasure to work with. His professionalism made planning the music effortless, and his services were incredible value for money.

Great DJ!!!

Tim was great from the moment we contacted him. Responding quickly, being flexible to what we wanted and also what was required by our venue. He even contacted them directly to prevent us being a middle man.
We had a small wedding so didn’t know what to expect with our guests but from our cocktail hour through to the end of the night everyone was loving the music and it all flowed great from Tim.
Couldn’t recommend enough.

Thank youuuuu!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you Tim for our wedding!!! We booked Tim for our wedding a few weeks ago and it was such a perfect night :) The dance floor was full pretty much all night, which is exactly what we hoped for. He got the balance spot on with the music and some of our selections were a bit tricky I think. He kept the atmosphere going from start to finish. A lot of our guests have mentioned how much they enjoyed the evening, and the music was a big reason why. Really pleased we chose him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone planning a wedding. Very personable too. Thanks, Tim

Incredible DJ!

From the very beginning, Tim was amazing to work with. His communication in the build-up to the event was top-notch and he really took the time to understand what we wanted for our big day, from the ceremony music to the party playlist. He made sure to check in with us about every detail, making us feel completely confident in his ability.

He had the dance floor PACKED all night and knew exactly how to cater to everyone's taste and keep the energy up. His transitions between songs were seamless, and the atmosphere was electric.

If you're looking for an incredible DJ who knows how to read a crowd and create an unforgettable vibe, Tim is your DJ!

Did everything we could have asked for !!! 🙌🏻

Professional, flexible, accommodating, kept the dance floor vibing throughout the wedding despite us giving Tim about 15 different random genres to flex between. Would happily recommend Tim for anyone thinking of hiring a DJ for any type of event

Fantastic service

Tim was wonderful to speak with, was communicative before the wedding, and then on the day everything went smoothly, and he was lovely and personable. We shared a spotify mix of some our favourite songs, and gave him creative freedom to weave them in and the dancefloor was busy all evening!

Brilliant DJ - Highly Recommend

We hired Tim for our wedding and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Before the wedding he was super responsive and available for calls to chat through music preferences etc. On the night itself he was brilliant and kept the dancefloor full the whole night. A great guy to work with and would highly recommend - thanks Tim!

Best DJ ever!!!!

Tim did a fantastic job at our wedding! We gave him a list of genres and what decades of music we preferred and he executed it perfectly! Every song he played was a banger and the dance floor was never empty! I would 100% recommend him and hire him again for future occasions. Thanks again Tim!

Wonderful DJ

We hired Tim a bit last minute, and we are so happy that we did. He took all of that part of the planning out of my hands, coordinating directly with the venue, which was unbelievably amazing! He was very responsive, and played an amazing set with exactly the type of music I was looking for. We had an amazing party thanks to Tim, and I would recommend him to anyone!

A brilliant experience

Tim was the perfect DJ for our wedding. We contacted him last minute, so he was very responsive and made the time to speak to us as soon as possible. He has a very organised approach and sends you a form for you to fill in, enquiring about your tastes, any specific tracks you want, your guests and the feel of the event. He got in touch with the venue and organised his own set up, which was a tremendous help this close to the wedding. On the day he was punctual and friendly. He followed the track list we'd given him, but also observed the crowd's reactions and adapted. He definitely got all of us on our feet! We're very glad we chose him.
