Owner Tim Phillips has been a professional DJ for over a decade, and he has performed at many premier venues throughout London and Kent. He will liaise with you before the big day to ensure that he delivers an entertainment experience that reflects your unique vision. Essential DJ Sounds is the home of world-class entertainment, and Tim wants to give you and your guests a night you’ll never forget.

Services Offered

Essential DJ Sounds offers a range of packages designed to suit celebrations of all sizes. Package features and options include background music, microphones for your ceremony and speeches, and a selection of dance floors, photo booths, backdrops, lighting solutions, and more. Tim’s vast music library includes hit songs from yesterday and today, and he is happy to take requests on the night. Tim’s equipment is PAT tested, and he carries public liability insurance for your peace of mind.

Wonderful DJ

We hired Tim a bit last minute, and we are so happy that we did. He took all of that part of the planning out of my hands, coordinating directly with the venue, which was unbelievably amazing! He was very responsive, and played an amazing set with exactly the type of music I was looking for. We had an amazing party thanks to Tim, and I would recommend him to anyone!

A brilliant experience

Tim was the perfect DJ for our wedding. We contacted him last minute, so he was very responsive and made the time to speak to us as soon as possible. He has a very organised approach and sends you a form for you to fill in, enquiring about your tastes, any specific tracks you want, your guests and the feel of the event. He got in touch with the venue and organised his own set up, which was a tremendous help this close to the wedding. On the day he was punctual and friendly. He followed the track list we'd given him, but also observed the crowd's reactions and adapted. He definitely got all of us on our feet! We're very glad we chose him.

Excellent DJ on all fronts

Tim played for our wedding at St Giles House. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough: his DJ set couldn’t have gone better and he was extremely professional and maintained great communication in the lead up and on the day itself.

He was in touch with the venue in the lead up and took all the stress out of the situation.

We provided a basic outline of the music and atmosphere we wanted and he totally nailed it: playing music that appealed to both our friends and older family members. We had so many compliments from wedding guests - everyone had a blast. The atmosphere was electric and he had guests on the dance floor all night. We really appreciate the thought and energy Tim put into our event.

Tim also provided a playlist for us to play during our reception, which totally captured the mood we were after.

Just perfect

Thank you ever so much for being the absolute perfect DJ at our wedding. You nailed the ambience that we were hoping for and the playlist was spot on for us. I only wish we could do it all again!

Fantastic dj and disco

From the outset, Tim was brilliant. He responded quickly to our enquiries and most importantly gave us confidence that he was going to do a brilliant disco for our daughter's wedding. Marvellously, he really did do a fantastic job and had people up and dancing all night, and everyone has a really great time. I can't recommend him enough. Thank you Tim!

Best DJ ever!!!!

Tim did a fantastic job at our wedding! We gave him a list of genres and what decades of music we preferred and he executed it perfectly! Every song he played was a banger and the dance floor was never empty! I would 100% recommend him and hire him again for future occasions. Thanks again Tim!

Great DJ for our wedding

I approached Tim fairly last minute so was thrilled that he was available for our date.

Tim was absolutely perfect- with the limited information I gave him he managed to create the perfect environment and the dance floor was full all night. I would not hesitate to recommend Tim to others.

I was initially reluctant to get a DJ as our wedding was relatively small and I wasn't overly fussed about the music. I am so glad I changed my mind!

Wedding DJ

Tim was incredibly professional. Tim stood out from the crowd with regards to DJs for weddings. He took time to hold chats/meetings prior to the wedding to really get an idea of what type of music and atmosphere we were hoping for. His stage and lighting was excellent. He looked very smart on the day. He knew exactly how to read the room and catered for all age groups on the dancefloor. He really did make the wedding extra special. I would highly recommend him. We couldn't recommend more!

From our first interaction via email until the last song of the evening, Tim was exceptional and helped made our day as special as we hoped.

Whatever we requested or suggested, Tim was able to to accommodate everything, making it all super easy for us.

On the day, Tim was able to read the room based on reaction and play tracks to keep our guests dancing all night - there was never a moment where things calmed down and guests went to their seats.
After the wedding, everyone complimented how fun the evening was, and a large part of that was down to the music Tim played.

We couldn't recommend him more, and will certainly share with friends who are planning a wedding in the future!

Incredible DJ, would recommend!

From the moment of enquiring with Tim he was super professional and efficient. He was down to earth and approachable. This was my first event let alone organising my wedding and was nervous. He put my mind at ease from the get go! Spoke to the venue to coordinate and extremely proactive and self-sufficient! We can not thank you enough, had everyone dancing constantly and had the most amazing time. We would recommend to anyone looking for a great DJ with no hassle or messing around! Not just a wedding DJ! An absolute pro.

Thankyou so much Tim for taking care of the music at our wedding at Dartmouth House. It was absolutely perfect and you had everyone on the dance floor the whole night! What a night! Fantastic DJ!

We loved having Tim DJ at our wedding!!! He managed to create such an incredible vibe, and made sure that we had the best time on the dance floor!
