While at a close friends' wedding we were completely blown away by their first dance - we asked who had taught them and it was Captiv8 Dance, who they couldn't recommend enough. From our initial interaction with one of the teachers, Oya over text she was so enthusiastic and accommodating. We had our initial lesson and absolutely loved learning to dance with her, she even convinced the rather reluctant groom that dancing was for him. We took five dance lessons with Oya to prepare for our first dance at our wedding, and we absolutely loved the entire experience. She is incredibly sweet, positive, and supportive, and she explains everything in such a clear and encouraging way that even some of the tricky steps felt manageable.

Oya was also wonderfully flexible whenever we needed to adjust our lesson dates, which took a lot of stress off our shoulders during a busy wedding-planning period. She was patient throughout and really took the time to understand our personalities and what we wanted and the type of dance style (a bit of a mix of everything!) we wanted to get to.. She helped us create a routine that felt authentically “us” while still looking elegant, cool, and sophisticated.

We truly cannot recommend Oya enough. She made our first dance something we’ll remember forever!

Thank you to Oya for being truly amazing!! We booked 5 hours of classes very last minute for our wedding, and it was the best decision we made. Oya bought so much energy to our classes and genuinely made us fall in love with dancing. We walked into the first lesson saying we couldn’t dance and to keep it simple, by the end we were doing dips and lifts. We feel so incredibly lucky that we found Oya to teach us the first dance for our wedding. You couldn't find a kinder, more patient or passionate teacher 😍

We insisted to all our guests that we were skipping a first dance altogether because it's not our forte and felt too awkward. And then secretly had dance lessons! Our guests could not have been more surprised to see us doing a full choreographed dance with a lift and dips. Quite frankly, neither could we as we learnt it all in just the few weeks before the big day. Oya practically bent over backwards to fit our lessons in.

The lessons turned out to be our favourite part of wedding planning, amidst all the chaos, and we're now SO sad it's over. We spent half our minimoon redoing the dance on the beach because we enjoyed it so much. Oya effectively gave us what perhaps became our favourite moment of our actual wedding day! We will cherish it forever.

We booked sessions with captiv8 dance to prepare for a wedding dance at the suggestion of my fiancé. I want massively bothered about it but went along with it. It turned out to be one of the most fun bits of the wedding prep. Oya is such a good teacher, so flexible and so enthusiastic. She doesn't teach you just a routine but how to dance. We found the practice to be an ideal antidote to wedding stress.

When it came to the wedding we nailed it, and it felt so good. We even did our dance at home the day later as we missed it. We're planning on doing follow up lessons as we loved it so much!

Oya is amazing. We went to her to learn a little bit to avoid an awkward shuffle. But she was so encouraging and supportive that we ended up learning a much more exciting routine and totally fell in love with dancing together! Oya is super patient, with boundless enthusiasm, really kind, flexible, and very responsive - always keen to hear what was working for us and what we wanted to change so that it really worked for us. She gave us such a brilliant experience that we felt it was a real highlight of the whole wedding planning period. And our dance was a total hit! We’re definitely going back for more lessons in the future!

Oya is an amazing teacher! Over five hours of lessons she took my partner and I from a level of totally useless - truly - we didn't even know how to two-step and were tripping over each other constantly - to pulling off a 2.5 minute first dance with spins, dips and lifts! We were surprised how much fun we had learning it. Oya is super talented, patient and just so lovely. Highly recommend!

Oya was absolutely fantastic! My partner and I were novices and had never danced before. Oya immediately put us at ease with her infectious enthusiasm and positivity.

Oya suggested a new song for our wedding dance, which she thought would fit better with our vibe, which was so thoughtful. She put together an amazing choreography, built it together with us step by step, and was very patient with us and helped to soothe our nerves pre wedding.

It absolutely felt like Oya was authentically and passionately invested in making the dance as good as it can be - you can tell she really loves dancing and is passionate about teaching and sharing her craft with others!

Oya helped us with a choreography for the first dance of our wedding and was absolutely incredible, so much that we ended up with an elaborate dance that we'd never have dreamed of doing (we are not dancers). She is engaging, upbeat and encouraging, and she never fails to respond to messages when we need her.
