Those little gaps in a wedding day are where I come in.

While you're having photographs taken, I'll make sure your guests aren't standing around wondering what happens next.

During your wedding breakfast, I can entertain tables between courses, keeping the atmosphere buzzing without getting in the way of the catering team.

And during the room turnaround, when there's often a natural lull in proceedings, I can bring everyone together again just as your evening guests begin arriving.

The result?

Laughter. Reactions. People talking to guests they've never met before.

And a room full of people having a fantastic time.

My style is modern, interactive and very much about your guests.

I'll mix and mingle performing impossible close-up magic, sleight of hand and mind reading literally inches from people's faces.

Nobody gets embarrassed or made to look silly.

They do, however, occasionally question everything they thought they knew about reality.

Which is rather fun.

There's also something I save especially for my wedding couples.

At some point during the day, I'll steal the two of you away for a few minutes.

No crowd.

No tables to entertain.

No pressure to be anywhere else.

Just the two of you experiencing a very special piece of magic together.

And this one doesn't simply disappear when the trick is over.

You'll be left with a beautiful, personalised and seemingly impossible magical memento of your wedding day to keep forever.

I'm not going to tell you exactly what happens.

That would rather spoil it.

When Should We Have a Magician?

This is something I'd much rather discuss with you than simply tell you to "book two hours."

Every wedding is different.

Your venue, number of guests, photographs, wedding breakfast and evening plans all affect where I'll make the biggest difference.

Three particularly good options are:

The Drinks Reception

You're off having photographs taken. Your guests have a drink in their hands and suddenly have people they've never met standing beside them.

That's where I come in.

Magic is a brilliant icebreaker and gets different groups talking and laughing together very quickly.

The Wedding Breakfast

I'll work around the tables, usually between courses, so there's always something happening.

It's particularly effective for larger weddings because every table gets its own little show.

The Room Turnaround

This is one of my favourite times to perform.

The meal and speeches are finished, the venue needs to prepare for the evening and there's naturally a bit of a lull.

Instead of everybody disappearing in different directions, I keep the party going.

Better still, your evening guests are beginning to arrive, so they get to experience the entertainment as well.

• What type of entertainment do you provide?

Modern close-up magic, sleight of hand, mind reading and interactive entertainment for adults and families.

• How long do you perform?

That depends on your wedding and number of guests. Rather than automatically selling you a set number of hours, I'll recommend the coverage that makes most sense for your day.

• Can you perform during the photographs?

Absolutely. In fact, it's one of the best times. While you're busy with your photographer, I'll keep everybody else entertained.

• Can you perform during the wedding breakfast?

Yes. I can work around the tables between courses without disrupting the meal or venue staff.

• What about the evening reception?

Absolutely. Performing during the room turnaround and arrival of evening guests is particularly effective because it brings the daytime and evening guests together and keeps the atmosphere going.

• Will you embarrass our guests?

No.

The magic is interactive and funny, but nobody is made to look foolish. I want your guests laughing with me, not worrying that I'm going to pick on them.

• Do you perform for children?

My wedding entertainment is primarily aimed at adults, but if children are present they'll certainly be included where appropriate. Weddings are family occasions. I'd also recommend you think about something for the children during the speeches. The truth is children couldn't care less about speeches and I they are bored they will distract the adults.

So while the grown-ups enjoy the speeches, I'll whisk the younger guests away for their very own Secret Kids' Magic Show.

For around 30–40 minutes, they'll have a hilarious, interactive magic show designed especially for them, packed with magic, silliness, audience participation and plenty of chances to become the magician's assistant.

• Do you need a stage or special equipment?

For close-up magic, no. That's the beauty of it. I come to your guests.

• Can you perform outside?

Yes, weather permitting.

• How far do you travel?

I regularly perform at weddings throughout Northumberland, Newcastle, County Durham, North Yorkshire and the wider North East, and I'm happy to discuss weddings further afield. I have also performed in Glasgow and as far as London.

• How far in advance should we book?

Popular Saturdays can disappear surprisingly early, particularly during wedding season. If you have your date and venue confirmed, it's worth checking my availability.

• How much does it cost?

Every wedding is slightly different, so the price depends on where you're getting married and what you'd like me to do.

Rather than choosing purely from a price list, get in touch and tell me about your plans. I'll recommend the option that I think gives you the best value.

• Can we meet you before deciding?

Definitely.

In fact, I'd encourage it.

A quick Zoom chat means you can meet me, ask questions and see some magic for yourselves.

After all, you're not really booking "a magician."

You're booking the person who's going to walk up to your family and friends on one of the biggest days of your lives.

It's rather important that you actually like him.

One Final Warning...

Wedding magic does occasionally cause problems.

Guests may refuse to believe what they've just seen.

Family members may spend the rest of the evening arguing about how something was done.

And there's a reasonable chance somebody will still be talking about "that bloody magician" at breakfast the following morning.
