Kavita Hansla - Award-Winning Spoken Word Artist & Wedding Poetry Specialist

Bespoke wedding poems, live guest poetry, and unforgettable speech support - crafted to move people and last long after the day.

If you are looking to bring poetry into a wedding, it feels fitting to work with an artist whose name literally means “poetry” in Hindi.

About Kavita

Kavita Hansla is an award-winning spoken word artist, poet, and wedding performance specialist. Her name means “poetry” in Hindi, and she believes poetry is one of the most powerful ways to capture emotion, memory, and meaning at a wedding - not just in a single moment, but in ways that stay with people long after the day itself.

Her work spans a range of wedding poetry and performance experiences, each designed to bring storytelling, presence, and emotional depth into the celebration.

Centrepiece Performance Poetry

A live bespoke performance poem about the couple, created for the wedding day and delivered as a centrepiece moment. Drawing from both sides of the couple’s story, this is designed to be one of the most memorable highlights of the celebration.

“It felt like you had known us for years - every detail was so us. We're still talking about the poem weeks later.” - Groom, May 2026

Wedding Speech Support

Support for brides, grooms, and their families in writing and delivering wedding speeches. Raw ideas are shaped into authentic, confident, and engaging speeches that feel natural to deliver and powerful to hear.

“You took away all my nerves - I actually enjoyed giving my speech. It sounded like me, just the best version of me.” - Groomsman, Feb 2025

Live Guest Poetry (On-the-Spot Poems)

Personalised poems written live during the wedding for guests, created as keepsakes to take home. A unique and highly personal addition to the celebration.

“I didn’t expect something so personal in the middle of a wedding - it felt like you captured me in a way I can actually keep forever.” - Wedding Guest, April 2026

Kavita’s work has been recognised with the Best Poet & Spoken Word Artist award at the Mainstream UK Awards, alongside a Bridport Prize shortlist and publication in multiple literary magazines, reflecting both performance excellence and literary craft.

She is often brought in not only as a performer, but as a creative presence within weddings - shaping emotional tone, elevating key moments, and creating experiences that feel intentional, personal, and unforgettable.

The aim is always the same: to create work that elevates a wedding into something unforgettable, leaving people with words they carry long after the day itself.

A unforgettable part of our day

We honestly couldn't have asked for a better wedding poet.

Her performance was one of the highlights of our day. She had everyone completely engaged, with so much laughter throughout, but she also captured some really emotional moments that had people in tears. So many of our guests came up to us afterwards to say how much they loved it.

On the day itself, she was amazing. Our timeline changed last minute, but she adapted without any fuss and made everything work seamlessly. It took a lot of pressure off us knowing she was so flexible.

From the very first message, she was so responsive and easy to work with. The whole process felt smooth and stress free, which made such a difference while planning the wedding.

We're so grateful we booked her. She brought something really special to our wedding, and it's a memory we'll always treasure. We can't recommend her highly enough!
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to make your big decisions easier.
