The perfect celebrant for our ceremony!
Steve Morris was our choice. He took the time to get to know our wishes and had heaps of flair to boot. He had the experience we felt necessary to be able to guide us through the preparations to wed, like help with vow writing and the ability perform the ceremony we wanted flawlessly. What he crafted for us reflected us both perfectly, consisting of a Greek crowning ceremony, a hand fasting and the exchange of vows and rings. Nothing we suggested was too much for him and he helped come up with ideas that fit our backgrounds too.
Our friends and family all said it was a beautiful ceremony, my best friend actually asked me if she could hire him for her upcoming wedding too which is so exciting. My husband and I thought it was the perfect ceremony but it meant a lot to us our friends thought so too. We could not have had that experience without Steve, he was guiding us every step of the way, but equally he let us go off “script” when the moment swept us up. It felt completely perfect.

Hi, I’m Steve.
I’m the celebrant behind Steve Morris Celebrant, which means from our very first conversation to the moment I deliver your ceremony, you’ll be dealing directly with me.
I create bespoke wedding ceremonies that are personal, memorable, and completely unique to each couple. Whether you’re looking for something romantic and heartfelt, rich in ritual and symbolism, or a fully themed celebration, I work with you to design a ceremony that truly reflects who you are.
Before becoming a celebrant, I spent many years working in the Civil Service and local government. When I stepped away from that world, I took the opportunity to focus on what I do best writing, storytelling, and performance and built a career around creating meaningful ceremonies.
I’ve always had a passion for history, mythology and alternative traditions, which led me into historical re-enactment. Over the years I’ve jousted at the Royal Armouries, appeared on Time Team, and taken part in large-scale historical events including the Battle of Hastings. These experiences now inform the ceremonies I create, particularly for couples looking for something a little different, from handfasting rituals to fully themed and costumed weddings.
Alongside my celebrant work, I’m also a maker and creative, crafting jewellery, building instruments, restoring vintage pieces and occasionally stepping back into the world of performance and commentary at historical events. Creativity runs through everything I do, and that carries into every ceremony I write.
Couples often describe me as calm, creative and adaptable, someone who can take their ideas (or help them find them) and turn them into a ceremony that feels natural, meaningful and unforgettable.
