We cannot thank Sue enough for the incredible job she did as our celebrant for our wedding on the 31st of July. My wife and I had planned every single detail of our day ourselves...except for the ceremony. And honestly, we didn’t need to worry for a second, because from before the very beginning to well after the end, even checking in a few days after our wedding, Sue had everything covered with such care, thoughtfulness, and professionalism.
She supported us every step of the way, making us feel completely comfortable and prepared. A few days before the wedding, she met with us for a rehearsal and absolutely blew us away with the beautiful, heartfelt story she had prepared about our relationship. It was clear that she had taken the time to truly understand us as a couple.
Sue went above and beyond, sharing insider tips, helping us with how to stand, where to look, how to hold hands so the photographers could capture the best moments, even how to do our dip! Every detail was considered, which gave us so much confidence going into the day.
The ceremony itself was everything we hoped for. It ran seamlessly—apart from me getting emotional and struggling to get through my vows! But even then, Sue had prepared me for that possibility, and thanks to her, I made it through.

We cannot recommend Sue highly enough. She was professional, kind, informative, reassuring, and made our day so special and unique.
With a few bullet points about our life together so far she created a beautiful love story that she shared with our friends and family during the ceremony along with delivering a beautifully unique love lock ceremony (bespoke to Sue and her ceremonies). Sue also gave key advice for during our ceremony to help keep us relaxed and make sure our photos could be captured perfectly (even down to hand positioning!). As a celebrant rather than registrar, we were not restricted on time, stressed by paperwork, or bound to formalities that didn’t fit our personalities and how we wanted our day to look and feel, it was truly personalised and to top it off, Sue looked fabulous, ensuring everyone in our ceremony photos and videos looked like a part of our wedding… she really does consider every last detail. Thank you Sue, we’ll be forever grateful for your part in our special day! -

From the moment we began planning our wedding, we initially opted for the traditional approach of booking a registrar to conduct our ceremony.
However, during a visit to a local wedding fayre, we had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Sue. She introduced us to a world of possibilities for creating a ceremony that truly reflected us as a couple. We were captivated by the idea of her retelling our unique love story as part of the ceremony — even before discovering the beautiful concept of the Love Locks. The symbolism of two heart-shaped locks physically joined together perfectly represented the love and unity at the heart of our marriage.
From our first meeting, Sue immediately put us at ease. She arranged Zoom consultations to answer all our questions and met with us a few days before the wedding for a rehearsal. This thoughtful preparation gave us a clear picture of how everything would unfold, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy the day itself. She even shared her expert tips for perfecting the iconic “dip kiss” — something we would never have mastered without her guidance!
When the big day arrived, everything ran seamlessly. Sue’s calm and reassuring presence set the tone for a truly unforgettable ceremony. Our family and friends were moved by the heartfelt story she shared, with both laughter and tears as we exchanged our vows and celebrated the start of our married life together.

Sue was recommended to us by our wonderful wedding photographer Martin, and we’re so glad that we followed his advice, as Sue was absolutely amazing and instrumental in helping make our ceremony and celebration so special and everything that we’d hoped for. Even just a few minutes into our first meeting with Sue to talk about our wedding plans, we felt calmed and reassured amongst the stresses of wedding organising, and like Sue was really taking the time to understand us and our story. She was brilliant at keeping us updated with her progress in crafting a beautiful and completely personalised ceremony and blessing for the two of us, and when the day of the wedding came, all her hard work and expertise was clear for all to see and hear. The ceremony was perfect, poignant, and relaxed, and with all the traditions from both our families and cultures effortlessly woven in thanks to Sue’s expertise and professional.
We were so incredibly lucky that our entire day was perfect and everything that we’d dreamed it would be, and Sue was an instrumental part of that. On top of her being a fantastic celebrant, she is a wonderful person, and we can’t thank her enough for her kindness, support, and reassurance during the run-up to our wedding. From booking to the big day, she was incredible. Neither of us had been married before, but we’ve been to plenty of weddings — and no one conducts a ceremony like Sue. Personal, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
She guided us through all the legal bits, checked in regularly, and was always just a phone call away. The rehearsal helped calm our nerves, and she gave us so many helpful tips — even for our first dance!
Guests couldn’t stop talking about how personal the vows and our story were. It meant the world to us.
Sue, you’re the BEST. ❤️ If you’re getting married, we highly recommend her. So many beautiful touches throughout — we’ll never forget it.

We cannot recommend Sue highly enough! From the very beginning, she was warm, professional, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire planning process. She took the time to truly get to know us as a couple and crafted a ceremony that felt deeply personal, heartfelt, and uniquely *us*.
One of the things we appreciated most was how Sue guided us every step of the way. She shared so many helpful tips and tricks that made the lead-up to the day (and the ceremony itself!) run smoothly. She even taught us how to do the perfect dip kiss for our big moment.
The ceremony was beautifully delivered with warmth, clarity, and just the right balance of emotion and celebration. We had so many guests tell us it was one of the best ceremonies they’ve ever attended — meaningful, joyful, and full of love.

If you are looking for a wedding celebrant then look no further!
Sue Burton has been amazing from start to finish. Straight away she explained how unique and different her ceremonies are compared to the standard ceremony with a registrar. She helped and explained the process when it came to booking our notice and legal ceremony, supporting and keeping in touch throughout.
We then had a fantastic wedding rehearsal taking us through each step and finally she delivered the most perfect and heartfelt speech on our wedding day, adding just the right amount of humour along the way 😁
Simply incredible, and we were so glad we booked her and not a registrar… especially because I was about 15 minutes late too 🥴.

I hadn't even noticed that Jodie was a few minutes late arriving.... that's the beauty of a Celebrant Style ceremony, there's no rush if you're not quite ready on time (I"ll be waiting at the end of the aisle until you're ready to go!) because I devote my attention to just ONE ceremony per day. So there's no rush regarding timing so everyone, especially your photographer, has a very relaxed and calm environment. After all, I do ensure you get married at some point! :) -

A ceremony that felt just like us - thank you Sue x
Working with Sue was one of the most reassuring parts of our entire wedding. She’s calm, clear, and incredibly thoughtful in everything she does. From the start, she made the process feel personal, getting to know us properly so she could tell our story in a way that felt real and true to who we are. What she delivered on the day was more than just a ceremony, it genuinely connected with everyone in the room.
The private rehearsal Sue led for just the two of us was one of the most helpful parts of the lead-up. It gave us space to run through everything quietly and calmly, just the three of us, which made the day itself feel far less overwhelming. Her grounded presence helped us settle in and focus on what really mattered.
On the wedding day, she quietly supported us through each moment - especially in the way she looked after Josh before I arrived. That kindness didn’t go unnoticed. And the sixpence she gifted me before the ceremony was such a thoughtful touch; simple, meaningful, and totally unexpected.
If you’re deciding between a traditional civil ceremony and a celebrant-led one, I can’t recommend going with a celebrant highly enough. The flexibility, the personal touches, the feeling that it’s truly your story being told. It was everything we hoped for. And Sue was the reason it all came together so naturally.
We couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant.
