I founded RD Ceremonies because I believe a wedding ceremony should feel like the heartbeat of the whole day, warm, personal and completely true to the couple standing at the front. My role isn’t simply to read words, but to create a moment where you genuinely recognise yourselves: your story, your humour, your journey and the promises you want to make for the future.

Everything I do begins with listening. I spend real time getting to know you, not just the highlights of how you met, but the small details that show who you are together, the challenges you’ve overcome, the quiet ways you care for one another, the things that make you laugh, the traditions you want to keep and the ones you’d rather leave behind. From those conversations I write every ceremony from scratch. I don’t use templates, and I don’t believe one love story should ever sound like another.

My background as a teacher shapes the way I work. It taught me how to communicate with warmth and clarity, how to put nervous people at ease and how to hold a room with confidence. Couples often tell me that from our very first meeting they felt safe, able to be themselves without needing to perform. When you feel relaxed, your ceremony becomes natural, joyful and full of life rather than formal or scripted.

I love weaving in meaningful touches such as handfasting, sand blending, ring warmings or family vows, but only when they genuinely reflect you. Children can be included, grandparents honoured, and cultural traditions can sit comfortably alongside modern, light-hearted moments. My aim is always the same: for your guests to leave saying, “That was so them,” rather than simply, “That was a lovely ceremony.”

Tone matters deeply to me. I write in language that is warm, contemporary and sincere, never cheesy, never generic. I balance romance with humour so your ceremony feels uplifting and real. Many couples come to me because they want something meaningful without religion, or something gently spiritual without being formal, and I take great care to find that perfect middle ground.

On the day itself I’m there as both your celebrant and your calm presence. I arrive early, support nervous couples, liaise with photographers, venues and musicians, and make sure everything flows smoothly. Whether it’s settling excited children, adapting to unexpected weather or gently guiding emotional readers, you’ll know you’re in safe hands.

Having delivered many ceremonies across Surrey and beyond, I bring experience alongside heart. Much of my work now comes through personal recommendation from previous couples and trusted suppliers, which means the world to me.

Above all, I care deeply about marriage and commitment. It’s an honour to help you begin this next chapter and to give you words you’ll carry long after the confetti has settled.
