About us
Meet Bertram Black Esq. - gentleman blacksmith, culinary inventor and the eccentric character at the heart of The Forge Kitchen in Ipswich.
With The Forge renowned for its home-smoked meats, theatrical cocktails and signature smashed burgers, Bertram decided those burgers were far too good to remain within four walls… so he put them on wheels.
The Forge food truck now takes that same spirit on the road, bringing bold flavours and a little Forge theatre wherever it goes.
Each burger is crafted from The Forge’s signature blend of dry-aged cuts of beef, smashed to order and served in a bespoke-baked sesame brioche bun, brushed with beef tallow. High-quality ingredients, bold flavour and unmistakable Forge character come as standard.
Services offered
The Forge food truck is available for weddings and events, serving its signature smashed burgers alongside indulgent loaded fries, all freshly cooked for guests on the day.
Perfect for relaxed wedding dining, evening food or a memorable late-night feast, it offers a distinctive alternative to traditional wedding catering.
After all, in Bertram Black’s world, no wedding feast should ever be ordinary…
