As a plus-size bride, I think every woman in my position can understand how frustrating and disheartening it can be to find a bridal store that truly sees you — one that has gowns that not only fit, but are beautiful, high-quality, and make you feel amazing.
From the very first moment I booked my appointment at Blue & Sixpence, I felt cared for. The service was warm, detailed, and so personal — nothing felt rushed or forced. When I arrived, Ali made me feel completely comfortable, and for the first time, I felt like I belonged in a bridal shop.
The gowns were absolutely stunning — elegant, romantic, and they actually fit me perfectly! I couldn’t believe how many gorgeous options there were in my size (UK 24). I tried on several, but when I found the one, I just knew. I felt beautiful. I felt confident. I felt like me.

As a plus sized bride, I was incredibly anxious about trying on dresses, but Ali was amazing! She was so wonderful and welcoming.
Not only is Ali wonderful (and her shop is beautiful), but she has so many dress styles and sizes that it would be hard not to find your dream dress there!

Being a plus size bride, I was so unsure about going wedding dress shopping. Was mostly looking online until my maid of honour dragged me along to Blue and Sixpence. And I’m so glad she did!
Felt so at ease and comfortable there, and ended up finding my perfect dress first go!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience choosing my wedding dress with Ali at Blue and Sixpence today! I was nervous but Ali was so lovely and clearly so experienced, she immediately put me at ease and really went above and beyond. There was a truly brilliant selection of gowns in every size and at surprisingly affordable prices! I was so relieved and excited to be able to try on so many dresses that fit so well, and really get to enjoy the process instead of worrying about having to squeeze into something 2 sizes too small. Ali’s expertise made the whole experience a joy- I never felt pressured to buy but found exactly what I wanted and got to experiment with different accessories too. We visited Blue and Sixpence in Liverpool with the whole family, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Ali was absolutely lovely – she made us all feel so welcome and completely at home. All of the dresses were beautiful, and there was such a fantastic selection to choose from. I had the most incredible experience choosing my wedding dress with Ali! After an awful experience elsewhere, Ali made me feel so special and comfortable and I found my dream dress.Ali was so kind as to let me book an additional appointment so my family could see my dress and help me choose a veil and hairpiece. My dress was 50% of the original price and her monthly payment plan makes it so affordable!

Ali is an absolute expert! couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was so anxious about finding a dress but this experience was more than I could’ve hoped for. Ali’s expertise shown through and had such a laugh during the appointment. Nothing was too much trouble. After trying on a few dress I just couldn’t find the right one. Until the last one ! It was my dress. Ali suggested a beautiful veil to go with it. To note I’m not a traditional bride and did not want white. At no point did Ali suggest anything that was traditional. She listened with care and helped me pick my dress. I said yes to the dress !!Blue & Sixpence Bridal's reply:

I’m getting married in south wales at Christmas and needed a dress. I’m originally from the north west and live in wales now but was visiting family and made an appointment to try on some dresses after ordering some unsuitable dresses online. I’ve never had the wedding dress experience before and I really had no idea what would suit me. So I arrived at my appointment alone and Ali instantly explained the process and asked me all about my hopes and dreams. Literally no idea what I wanted so we picked 4 different styles and set to work. Dress 1 was beautiful but not for my figure. Dress 2 was gorgeous but not quite right. Dress 3 was a 9 out of 10 but it needed some work to make it fit and ideally I wanted to find a dress that fit me.
Then dress 4 came out and when Ali laced it up I burst into tears. Needless to say I chose this dress and took it home with me along with a stunning veil to match it.
I can’t wait to wear my dress it’s absolutely stunning. And to add - there was a saving of 65% on the original price. Would highly recommend buying from Ali.Blue & Sixpence Bridal's reply:
