I came across Here You Are Bridal when I was looking for a non traditional and sustainable wedding dress for our elopement to the rocky mountains in Canada. I needed a dress that felt like me and also was suitable for some hiking and climbing on rocks. As someone who didn't want a white wedding dress, it was difficult to find something that felt special enough, that was until I came across HYA.

Laura helped me focus my thoughts and she designed the perfect dress after multiple discussions and a visit to her Brighton home studio. What she came up with was amazing and she listened to everything I wanted. Laura was so responsive throughout the whole process and updated me regularly.

I wanted a unique, individual bohemian dress that would suit an outdoor venue and had no idea where to find it. I was quite overwhelmed and stressed about having to go "wedding dress shopping" as a second time bride in my 40s. Ifound Here You Are Bridal through an advert on Instagram, their sustainable and ethical approach appealed to me, and also their website was reassuring and welcoming. After an initial web consultation to go over the service HYA provide and what it would cost, and deciding they were a good fit for me, I went to Brighton to meet Laura and Hannah at their studio. I tried on samples, they took measurements and we discussed what my dress could look like. This was a really lovely meeting, I went on my own and felt really comfortable and came away confident that they could create a dress for me. This is not the cheapest option to get a wedding dress, but I believe with the skill and talent of Laura and Hannah to create such lovely dresses, created for you as an individual with real care and attention is worth it, and when considering this is a one off, made to measure from antique materials offers good value for money. To me, it was worth every penny.
There were more conversations and videos of the lace they had found for me, before the dress arrived. I thought the timescale was surprisingly quick for the service provided, and I had my dress well in advance of the wedding date.
It is special to have something created for you with such care and consideration for you and how you want to feel on your wedding, and I felt completely relaxed and comfortable all day and night wearing it.
I had so many compliments on the day and after as well, that it was a true, natural representation of myself, that I looked like I belonged in the woodland setting, that it is a unique and timeless dress.
I love my dress, and I am so glad I found HYA!
