Charlotte was more than just a makeup and hair artist on our wedding day. She kept the good vibes going, kept me calm and everyone on time ensuring we were dressed and ready for the ceremony and pictures beforehand.
For my trial she fit me in last minute and listened to the feedback I had and changes I wanted. On the day a bridesmaid had changed her mind and Charlotte didnt stress herself and jumped right on board.
During trials it was like having a therapist as she let me rant on about the stress I was having with planning. And again reassured me and kept me calm.
Her work is beautiful and lasted all night, even the hair after head banging. Amazing value for money and felt more like a friend in the room than a vendor. Highly recommend Charlotte -

Charlotte was absolutely wonderful! From the trial to my wedding day, she was so attentive, listened to what I wanted, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. Her hair and makeup work was beautiful, and I couldn’t have been happier with the result!
She was punctual, professional, and such a kind, lovely person to have around on such an important morning. I felt beautiful and completely myself. I would recommend her 100%! Thank you, Charlotte, for being part of my special day! -

A delight to work with!
Charlotte is an incredible hair and MUA. She immediately understood my vision and slotted in so well into the day and wedding party. She was a treat to work with and so professional, knowledgeable and kind. Her focus on soft and natural make up was exactly what I wanted and my make up not only looked beautiful but didn’t feel heavy and lasted all day and night. -

My initial communication with Charlotte was good and she was friendly and responsive. However, I was very disappointed when my booking was cancelled simply because I asked whether she could accommodate a additional people on the wedding day.
I completely understand if she was unable to take on the extra people, which is why I asked first. Her terms and conditions also state that bookings can be amended to add or remove people, so I felt it was a reasonable question to ask.
Unfortunately, having the whole booking cancelled has really affected me, especially with my wedding now only around two months away. It has left me having to find another hair and makeup artist at short notice, which has added unnecessary stress during an already busy time.
I can't comment on the quality of her actual service as the booking was cancelled, but I found the way the situation was handled disappointing and unprofessional. I would have much preferred to simply be told that the additional people couldn't be accommodated while keeping my original booking.Charlotte Harper Hair & Makeup Artist's reply:

I completely understand that wedding planning is an incredibly busy and high-pressure time, and I am genuinely sorry for the stress caused by the cancellation. However, I would like to clarify the context behind this decision to ensure future couples have an accurate picture of how I operate.
When the booking was initially accepted, it was for two individuals plus light touch-ups, with a firm ready-time of 8:00 AM. Over subsequent conversations, the scope changed repeatedly—first requesting services such as beard grooming/barbering that fall outside my professional scope as a hair and makeup artist, followed by multiple changes to the overall numbers.
As a sole artist with other commitments scheduled later that day, accommodating an expanding group for an 8:00 AM finish would have necessitated a 3:00 AM start, which was simply not feasible. While my terms do allow for amendments where practical, they rely on clear, definitive numbers so a realistic timeline can be safely planned. Because the headcount continued to fluctuate without certainty ("just the two of us for now," followed promptly by further requests to add people), I had to make the difficult, professional judgment that I could not guarantee the standard of service or strict timing required for your morning.
Cancelling was never done lightly, but out of a responsibility to be transparent early rather than risk running over on your big day. To ensure you were not left out of pocket, I also immediately returned your booking fee in full, even though it was non-refundable under our agreed terms.

Charlotte was super professional and friendly, and made me feel really comfy on my special day. She did my hair and makeup for my civil ceremony in August. She helped out in any way she could and worked with me to make me look my best. I wasn’t sure what kind of look I wanted but she helped figure that out, and even before the day she kept in touch with me very well and helped answer any questions I had. She’s really good at what she does.
100% would recommend her. -
