Lara was the best make up artist! From responding to any queries I had in a calm and professional manner to delivering on the big day! Being quite the “Tom boy”, I had no idea when it came to make up, so my sister arranged a make up artist for me, who then cancelled out of the blue. A colleague of mine was recently married and recommended Lara to me who she used for her wedding, when I contacted, Lara was very understanding of the situation and everything moved forward so seamlessly! We did a make up trial which was only meant to be an hour and a half, but we chatted and laughed the whole time and she made me feel so comfortable in asking questions or to make changes to make me feel comfortable in my own skin. With having little to no make up knowledge, Lara didn’t make me feel silly at all and explained each process, even providing some insight which she felt would suit me and we went with it, going back doing changes until I was happy! Forever grateful for the experience and patience.
Onto the big day, Lara arrived ahead of schedule to set up and made her acquaintance with the rest of the bridal party, it was so seamless throughout and provided any touch ups needed, she waited until the end to provide a small touch up for lips for the bridal party to use throughout the day!
The pricing was absolutely spot on, if anything, Lara needs to charge more for her services! The make up lasted all day and night, even through my many many tears! As someone with a much warmer complexion and on the browner side, the make up was matched perfectly.
I would love to have my make up done again by Lara even just for fun! She made me feel so beautiful and natural in my own skin, 11/10!

I was recommended Lara by a bridal boutique who had worked with Lara before on their own advertising bridal shoots. Lara was super friendly and professional, has a vast range of make up brands and colours. The trial was really good as I was able to try a couple of different colours until I found what I was looking for (wedding makeup). Lara was super quick with communication. I was recommended Lara through a Wedding Facebook Group and I was so happy to have gone through with using Lara as my Make Up Artist for my Wedding back in April. With arranging everything so far in advance I was able to arrange a make up trial that fit with my travel schedule as I no longer lived in the area anymore and everything was just so chilled, both in the trial and on the big day. Being so fair skinned and having almost invisible eyebrows from being blonde I was initially worried but Lara was able to make everything still look so natural just how I wanted not being a make-up wearer, almost as if I wasn't wearing any in the first place.
Make up didn't feel heavy in the slightest and I had so many compliments throughout the day. Lara is super friendly and I would honestly recommend her for anyone planning their wedding. She gave me a little top up kit, which I didn't even end up needing, a true test of the quality of makeup.Lara James Make Up's reply:

Absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Lara is professional, friendly, listened to what I wanted and advised me when I needed it. She used quality brands and gave me a little pot of the lipstick I wore on my wedding day so I could reapply throughout the day. She really made my day special and spent time on mine and my bridal party’s makeup to ensure everything was spot on. I can’t possibly recommend her enough!Lara James Make Up's reply:

Im so thankful I found Lara on hitched , she made me feel special from the first time we meet on my trail , I would say everyone needs a Lara , she me feel calm and relaxed on my special day , would highly recommend Lara , I’m so glad we meet , Lara could tell when I was getting nervous and preferred with beautiful lavender air mist to calm me and my party down , Lara thinks of the tiniest details, I was given a little organza bag with the shade of my lipstick for touch up , a blotting pad if it got to hot to dab my make .

I would highly recommend Lara. For someone who doesn't wear much make up Lara listened to what I wanted, nothing too heavy and subtle and that's what I got. We had a trial which gave me an idea of overall look as I was rather clueless. On the day she did both mine and my daughter's make up (bridesmaid) and we were very happy with the result!
