I booked a trial with Grace for my daughter and I in prep for my wedding day. My daughter did not like hers, but I was happy, with some changes identified via messages to Grace and reassurance given to do this on the day. I agreed I’d still pay the full booking amount to keep my slot as I knew it was travelling for make up just for myself. At my trial I discussed the venues request for vendors to communicate directly with them, and I advised of parking arrangements.

Graces communication before my wedding day was poor. She wanted to change her arrival time just weeks before, even though I was still paying for two people and this time and I explained why this was important to me to be ready early, for the first look with my Dad. We negotiated the time to between this point. I sent Grace info on parking again and asked if she’d been in touch with the venue and she did not reply.

On the day, she arrived late and not set up for the start time, instead there was 30 minutes delay to her starting. She was very quiet. I tried to converse and there was very little chat. She had not contacted the venue to plan for arrival.

Grace asked me if I had changes from the trial and I recapped my message, showing her the photos and reminded her of no highlighter, particularly to cheeks or a heavy base due to my skin type, which we discussed at trial.

I felt this was ignored and Grace told me after she had put an entirely different foundation on me. I had no check in throughout and when I was shown at the end I said it was a glossy/dewy finish and not as expected. We were well over the time at this point and the photographer had already been sent away more than once. Grace tried to matte the areas which were identified and all it was doing was putting more product over a too heavy base and all of my pores were visible. This is visible in my professional photographs and was disappointing. I felt the trial was a waste of time and cost as it was not the starting point on my day and instead Grace changed products with no discussion. This really affected my confidence all day.

I did not want to leave a negative review, and instead reached out to Grace by message to understand and discuss what went wrong. Grace dismissed the facts of the situation and said I had identified a skin issue on the day, that is not true. She told me she changed the foundation - but did not tell me this and she took no accountability to agree that her lack of planning, start time, changes to product and no checking in until the end affected the outcome and instead told me I should have asked for it redone. There simply was not the time to do this by this point. Grace sent some refund for my daughter’s make up (that she hadn’t done anyway) and although I had not suggested I would leave a negative review, ignored my communication and blocked me from her pages.

I would have been happy if Grace had communicated effectively and took accountability for her actions and the impact it had on my day. I feel it unfair she dismissed that and ignored the facts and my messages, so I wish to leave an honest review to present a balance of the facts of my experience for other brides considering using her services, as I would not recommend.

I honestly can’t thank Grace enough for the incredible job she did on my wedding day! From the trial to the morning of the wedding, she made me feel so relaxed and completely understood the look I was hoping for.

My makeup lasted beautifully all day (through happy tears and dancing!) and I genuinely felt the best I’ve ever looked. She also worked her magic on my bridesmaids and mum — everyone looked stunning and felt amazing.

Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also so lovely to have around on such a special, emotional morning. I’d 100% recommend her to any bride-to-be!
