Firstly, both Matt and I had the most wonderful day at The Old Government House – it was amazing from beginning to end. Mel was incredibly professional, providing us with all the necessary information during our visits. She guided and supported us through every aspect of event planning, from scheduling, recommending local vendors, room presentation, to guest management. Her attention to detail was exceptional, ensuring everything was perfectly executed.
We were also blown away by the thoughtful surprises from the hotel, including a bottle of champagne, embroidered Red Carnation dressing gowns, and chocolate-dipped strawberries left in our suite on our wedding night – it was such a lovely touch!
We had our food tasting last November, and the entire experience was delightful – not to mention delicious! We even had an extra canapé tasting session because the choices were just too tempting! All our guests commented on how tasty the food was. Throughout the entire planning process, The OGH felt like a second home, and we look forward to visiting again.
The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be recommending The OGH to any couples planning their wedding. -

There are not enough stars to choose to describe the high level of the professionalism, service and high quality of the staff, they were so attentive. The whole hotel exuded Christmas and glamour. From the moment we started arranging the wedding with the team they were incredibly helpful and personable, the plans were made with ease and nothing was too much trouble. All of our plans came together and the wedding weekend was everything we could have wished for, it went perfectly and we loved every minute. Wish we could do it all again, the OGH was simply perfect. -

Wedding day
We had our wedding here which was not your typical wedding. They were amazing with accommodating our decor and how we wanted the tables set up, they made sure our day was perfect and were so good when it came to communicating and they work seamlessly as a team. -

A perfect day
We had our wedding at OHH and it was absolutely perfect! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were incredibly helpful, professional, and attentive to every detail, making our day completely stress-free. The venue itself was stunning, with beautiful decor and a fantastic atmosphere that made our wedding truly special. The food was exceptional, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thank you for making our day unforgettable! Highly recommend to any couple looking for a dream wedding venue. -

We had the best wedding day!
We got married on 16th August 2024. It was second time around for both of us and we wanted a very personal small wedding ceremony followed by a lazy long celebratory lunch. We had only 30 guests.
Right from the outset, Melanie, our wedding coordinator was so very helpful and clearly very experienced in her role.
Once she was able to confirm availability, Melanie met with us to show us the options of the various rooms both for the ceremony and lunch.
Melanie made the whole process worry free, was quick to answer my endless questions in emails and readily met with us to ensure that every tiny detail was covered and understood.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We very much enjoyed our food and wine tasting and were able to include four of our guests.
We were very well looked after by the superb team of staff, and the chef joined us after lunch to hear our feedback and offer suggestions to how we could tweak our choice of menu. It was great!
Our wedding went without a hitch, nothing could beat the warm and friendly atmosphere by all of the wonderful waiting staff towards us and our guests. Melanie was on hand the whole day.
The food was fabulous.
The only thing that could be improved on, was the system by which we were able to play our music playlist. The speaker in the room we used wasn’t working and so we had to use a portable “ghetto blaster” which wasn’t really loud enough for all to hear well.
We chose not to have an evening event, but were able to use the room for as long as we wanted - with no pressure to leave.
We had the best day and would highly recommend the OGH as the perfect wedding venue.

I cannot fault these guys. They gave us the best day of our lives, they were extremely helpful, involved, kind, welcoming and went over and above to look after us!! -
