Fabulous Venue

We had the pleasure of having our Wedding here on Sunday 7th December.
We really can’t recommend this place enough!
Everything from first booking it has been fantastic. Nothing was a bother. Stacey, our wedding coordinator was the most helpful person we’ve met.
She made us feel so special on our day and made our wedding run so smoothly.
The staff at South Causey are second to none. All of our guests commented how lovely, helpful and efficent they were.

If you havn’t booked youe wedding venue yet - please consider this place, you wont be dissapointed!!

Honest review

Our wedding day was truly amazing, and the team worked hard to make it special. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything else ran perfectly, which we’ll always remember fondly.

That said, we did book the platinum package and were disappointed by a couple of details. We discovered that the “DJ” included was actually just someone with a laptop to play a playlist, which wasn’t what we expected. Thankfully, we arranged our own DJ, otherwise it would have been a huge letdown on the day.

The centrepiece options were also limited to five, and despite sharing my vision of three long-stem roses in a tall vase surrounded by floating candles, this wasn’t delivered. What we received didn’t feel like centrepieces at all, which was underwhelming compared to what we’d been promised.

Overall, the day itself was wonderful, but if you’re considering the platinum package, I’d recommend double-checking all the details in advance to avoid disappointment.

The most perfect wedding day and all thanks to the amazing staff at the South Causey!

We had our wedding at the south Causey last Friday and it was the most perfect day! Couldn’t fault a thing all of the staff went above and beyond for us. A massive shout out to Jack who made us feel so comfortable and looked after us throughout from coming to the bridal suite to check on myself to making sure my partner was all settled, guided us throughout the whole day , ensuring we were happy with everything that was in place. 100% recommend the wedding team at the south Causey and the stunning venue! Thank you once again for making our day so so special!

An incredible venue!

We had our wedding at South Causey Inn in the Durham Suite and it truly was the best day of our lives. From our very first meeting, we felt completely supported and understood. As an international couple, we relied a lot on communication from afar, and the team at South Causey were always there for us. No question was ever too small, too obvious or too last-minute. We never once felt like just another couple and we were always made to feel like our day genuinely mattered.

A special shout out and huge thank you to Stephanie and Stacey, who were absolutely incredible throughout the entire journey. They were patient, reassuring and always one step ahead of us. In the build up, they were on hand for everything we needed. The day before, they helped us settle in and feel calm. On the day itself, they made sure everything ran so smoothly that we didn’t have to think about anything except enjoying every moment. They were kind, attentive and genuinely caring and that made all the difference.

The venue itself is beautiful! The Durham Suite was perfect for us, creating a relaxed, warm atmosphere that still felt special and full of joy. Our guests still talk about how lovely it all was.

We couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, seamless, or heartfelt experience. South Causey Inn gave us a wedding that felt entirely 'us' and we are so grateful. We recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone. It was everything we dreamed of and so much more.

Incredible Venue & Outstanding Staff!

We had the most amazing wedding day at The South Causeg Inn and can’t thank the team enough for everything they did. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Every staff member—from the friendly reception team to the brilliant bar staff—was helpful, professional, and made our day feel extra special.

A special shoutout to our wedding coordinator, Stephanie, who was absolutely fantastic. She made the whole planning process feel effortless and was calm, organized, and supportive throughout the day. Even when we had an unexpected power cut, the team handled it so quickly and efficiently that most guests didn’t even notice! It was clear we were in very capable hands.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful venue with top-notch service.

Just WOW!!!

If anyone was ever in doubt to book their wedding at south causey - DO IT!
Wow - we had the most magical day!

Throughout the whole booking process, the staff were just professionals. We first went to visit and as we looked around, our first dance song came on - fate or what?

We decided on the elite package and we are so glad. We got to upgrade to the hotspot bar - again easy enough and the staff were so accommodating. Arriving the day before our wedding, I felt the nerves approaching. However, when I met Stacey and Stephanie to hand over all of our stuff, the nerves disappeared and I felt at ease immediately. The girls basically said everything was sorted and will leave it to them. Off me and Drew went for lunch - again delicious food as we remembered. Then to check into the hen and duck houses. The staff again, were so helpful in checking in and after asking for another mirror for the hairdressers on the morning, shortly after, the girls arrrived on a buggy with another mirror. How’s that for service???

The hotspot bar - Harry behind the bar was just amazing and made sure our night flowed smoothly and was everything we wanted.

The morning of the wedding - Jack came to collect me in the Range Rover and again, a friendly face that made me feel relaxed!

Arriving at the venue, there is Stacey smiling with everything under control. Again, someone who felt so familiar and genuinely cared that we had the best day ever. Anytime of the day, I thought, aw I’ll ask Stacey - she was just there waiting to accommodate whatever we needed or to bring us a drink. At one point Drew asked Stacey for the room keys to pop back to the room and she quickly offered to take him in the buggy for convenience. I say these examples to share the lengths the team went through to make sure our day was perfect. All the bar staff were just amazing and complimented by our guests throughout the day! Jack - who was there until the end waved us off with his smiley face making sure we had had the best day.

We couldn’t ask for anymore for our day, it was totally perfect! We would like to thank all of the staff who made every effort to make our day as special as it was. Extra special thanks to Stacey 🩷 We can’t wait to come back Xxxxx

The most incredible wedding day from start to finish!!

My wife and I had the most perfect wedding day at the south causey inn, we chose the old barn and it was absolutely breathtaking when we walked in.

From start to finish the whole day felt like a dream, Adam our wedding coordinator was an absolute star and made sure the day ran so smooth, we had not one stress or worry all day. The venue is ran to the highest standard and everything from decor, food, drinks, staff was absolutely perfect! Couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day!

Absolutely phenomenal

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
From initially viewing the venue, to booking and actually spending a few days there for the wedding itself.
We cannot fault South Causey in any way.
They helped us through the process, ensured all bases were covered and kept us informed at all times.

The Old Barn was perfect for us and a beautiful setting. All of the staff we dealt with were outstanding and extremely helpful.
The food was amazing and the portions were extremely generous. Our guests commented on the quality of the day and the food was a common talking point. To the point where people were shocked at the quantity received alongside the quality.

While all staff were brilliant, Stephanie was great at helping us book and prepare for the day.
The two ladies who gave us our treatments were fantastic (unsure of names).
Our co-ordinator Adam was fantastic at keeping the day on track. All were truly genuine and we cannot thank them enough.

We are genuinely grateful for how well we were looked after and how they helped to make the day a truly memorable occasion.

Thank you for our perfect day!

We had the most amazing experience at the South Causey. Having had family members married there, and having visited the restaurant for food, we knew from the start that the South Causey was where we wanted to get married ourselves. We initially booked the Farm House, a very beautiful room which we were looking forward to. However, after attending another wedding showcase, we decided that the Durham Suite would be a better room for us, as it was slightly bigger, with beautiful floral hanging garlands cascading across the room. The staff at South Causey helped us to switch our venue with ease. We loved how this room also gave us the stunning Durham Garden and outdoor area, all of which were used throughout our perfect day. The organisation of the South Causey was second to none and every single member of staff was absolutely wonderful and attentive. Nothing was ever a problem and every question was always answered. This was true even during the actual morning of the wedding when, through various circumstances, a guest was no longer able to attend, so someone else came in her place, but required a different menu and seat. This was sorted with great ease, with replies telling me not to worry. Our breakfast the following morning felt like a continuation of wedding celebrations, with Sue our waitress on top form joining in with jokes around the table.
Thank you so much to Stacey our wedding coordinator who ensured everything went to plan on the day. Thank you also to Stephanie who led our meetings leading up to the day. We really did have the most perfect day and all of our guests have complimented the food, decor, staff, atmosphere and beautiful venue.

Wedding at The Old Barn, South Causey Inn, 19th August 2025

We recently got married in The Old Barn at South Causey Inn… our entire experience was outstanding!

Adam did a fantastic job ensuring our day went smoothly, Steph answered all our difficult questions flawlessly, and the food/drinks were fantastic 🥳

Our venue was stunning, and both myself and my partner feel truly blessed - thank you for making our day so special South Causey Inn
