The most incredible venue
The most incredible wedding - we couldn’t have asked for more. We got married on 13th July 2024 at Gisburne Park Estate. We picked the 3 day wedding option. We had a lot of people travelling from afar so having everyone there for 3 days worked very well. Friday was arrival drinks at Hindelinis. Saturday was the wedding day. Sunday was an after wedding party where people discussed the day before and chilled out before starting their journeys home on the Monday.
The venue
This is the first venue we viewed and we knew we didn’t need to see another. Having been to many venues for friends weddings, Gisburn Park completely stood out as unique.
It’s situated in its own small valley, with a stream running through into the River Ribble. Upstream (where the ceremony usually takes place) is magical. You can hear the river running as it curves around the Tipi. All our guest commented on how beautiful it was.
The bridal house is perfect and gives the wow factor as your guests arrive. It’s the perfect stay for the bridesmaids the night before and has a beautiful area for hair / makeup to set up and for everyone to get ready. We had some amazing photos / confetti shots on the bridge as we made our way to the main tipis for the reception. The fire pits, swing and grass area around the main tipi gave the wedding a festival feel.
The majority of our friends and family stayed onsite and were very pleased with the accommodation (and the hot tubs). What made things really special were the visits from deer and peacocks - again adding to the wow factor. The groomsmen stayed in the Stables accommodation - a large house which sleeps 12 people and was well equipped to have fun.
The tipis themselves were spacious and a perfect size to hold both the meal and the dance-floor.
The venue is also dog friendly and we had our dog Clancy (Cockapoo) walking down the aisle with our family dog Daisy (14 yr old Labrador) being at the wedding all day.
The food & drink
Canapés were delicious and were larger than we were used to.
We opted for the BBQ for our main to fit in to our festival theme. The BBQ was great. It worked for all our guests dietary requirements (including celiac, veggie and vegan). There was more than enough food for everyone with people going back for more. The quality of the meat was commented on by our guests - it’s all locally sourced and you could really tell the difference. We also opted for the sourdough pizzas and pizza van in the evening which went down very well. The pizzas are a lot better than you might expect - try them!
We wanted to mix up the welcome drinks - opting for pimms in large kilners, which was accommodated.
The staff / wedding team
The best part. Steph, Jack and Tracy were absolutely fantastic. We did a lot of meetings with Steph in the run up to the wedding and she kept us on track despite our busy lives! Steph was super organised, patient and made sure our wedding day ran perfectly before she handed over to Jack and Tracy. We had a few special requests including draft Guinness and a disco ball - all of which Jack accommodated. Jack coordinated our ceremony with perfection. Tracy took over at the main tipis and ran the reception, the catering on the day into the evening. On the day of our wedding, Jack, Tracy, Alice, Tilly and all the other bar staff felt like family. They completely joined in with the fun and we’re the best. The bar staff were all pub trained and you could tell as the bar ran very efficiently.
The best team. Genuine, down to earth people who go the extra mile to ensure you have the experience you want. It had a family feel from the first interaction- which is something that is very difficult to replicate at a Wedding. We feel so lucky!
Thank you also to Lauren who sorted all the accommodation for our families. She was amazing!
In summary
If you want an outdoor style wedding, which showcases the British countryside and you aren’t afraid of the potential for rain - this is your place. The wedding ran very smoothly, we were very happy with the value for money (especially in the context of a wedding) and the wedding team and staff on the day were brilliant throughout the process. We wanted something unique, with an outdoorsy feel and a wow factor and Gisburn Park and the team delivered.
Thank you so much again - Josh and Sarah (The Taylors).-

A beautiful chilled day — everything we ever wanted
Gisburne Park Estate was the first venue we viewed. We both knew it was where we wanted to be married from the moment we set eyes on it. (We did look at one other venue, but our heads were never going to be turned.)
From first being driven round the site by Steph and Jack, we knew this was the place and that these were the people we wanted to look after us and our guests.
As we have family that would be coming up from London and the south coast, we were looking for a venue where everyone could be for the whole weekend. Joe’s parents, sisters and family were all able to stay together in The Stables House. Guests also stayed in the lodges at Ribblesdale Park, some glamped and a few couples stayed in the nearby White Bull pub. The site and the hot tubs were an all round big hit — what’s not to love when you’re greeted by deer and peacocks?
We’d spent a couple of weekends at the lodges in the year before the wedding, so could recommend the accommodation and all the facilities in the area with full confidence.
Steph was in regular contact from the time of booking to the weekend itself, helping us keep the planning all in good order and manageable.
We had a wide range of ages to cater for, with one third of our guests under 18 and a fair few over 70s. So it was important to us that our wedding be as informal and chilled as possible, with the ceremony and photos being the only time where guests were required to be in a particular spot for any length of time. We wanted everyone to be free to do their thing and enjoy the party in their own ways.
Steph, Jack and Tracy helped us to achieve this. We opted for the BBQ menu from Betty’s Kitchen and guests were free to eat outside or inside at tables of their choosing. The food was superb and everyone could select their food on the day, with all dietary requirements catered for without fuss.
The late night pizzas were a big hit and helped keep the dancers going until midnight. Ste, the technician from Six15 did a great job with the dance floor lighting and was just lovely to have around on the day. As were all the bar and catering staff; they’re a really friendly, helpful team.
We did have a timeline set out, but everyone was free to do as they wished and we made use of all the space in the tipis, outside in the grounds and around the fire pits. There was an epic 3 hour game of football, that continued through the speeches (with our blessing)!
On the Sunday we enjoyed chilli and cake in the tipis followed by time at the pool. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t so kind to us that day, but the sun came out at all the right times on the wedding day itself. If it hadn’t, the tipis are so roomy we know we would all have been just fine.
The day was all that we had hoped for and it was a truly special and very “us”. The ceremony tipi, in the woods by the stream is magical. Being able to stay in the middle of it all in Riverside House is just dreamy.
I was tipped off by another bride to make sure I looked out the window to watch our guests walking down the hill and seeing the venue for the first time — such a lovely moment.
The words of my uncle:
“It was a wonderful day. Creative, imaginative, unique, easy-going, spectacular, poetic, ethereal, grounded. What more to say.”
And another friend commented just how “accessible and joyful it was for all”, which meant a huge amount to us as it was our aim and of course we could not have achieved that without all the efforts of the Gisburne and Betty’s Tipis team.
Gisburne is a very special place. We loved our day and are looking forward to coming back to stay at Ribblesdale Park for anniversaries or family get togethers in the years to come.

Great service made a wonderful day
We're both very grateful to Daniella and team for making our day so wonderful. We got married in the local church with our reception in the tipis, and it all went very smoothly and we couldn't have asked for a better day! It was a bit chilly in the tipis in mid-March but nothing to stop us dancing away in some overcoats! -

Perfect venue for our perfect day
If you're thinking about a unique, special venue for your wedding, you should look no further than Gisburne Park. It provided an amazing back-drop to our perfect weekend and when you add the professionalism, dedication and friendliness of the team, I doubt you'll find anywhere better. Everything was perfect; the food, the setting, the organisation and the weather (we paid extra :)). Finally, as a small team, they also provide a personal touch which is so important to such an important event. -

A Magical Experience
Gisburne Park Estate is an absolutely magical venue. The grounds are breathtaking with stone bridges, a gorgeous estate, flowing river and rolling hills. Regardless of your vision, the property will make it come to life. Daniella and her staff are amazing. They are friendly, professional and offer resources to make the planning a stress-free experience. We live in the US which made planning the event more difficult, but Daniella eased the pain. We jumped on Zoom calls to go over details and the suppliers she recommended are outstanding. You must use Sarah from Stories of Events as her designers eye and ability to translate your vision into reality is spectacular. Jack and his team at Betty's Tipis were remarkable. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff's attention to detail continued to surprise us all evening long. I highly recommend sharing your special day at Gisburne and allowing them to help you create an experience that you and your guests will be talking about for years to come. -

The most magical place you could get married
From the moment we stepped into the bridal house during a wedding fayre we fell in love. So much so that we moved our whole wedding 2.5 hours away, and we don’t regret a thing. In fact it was the best thing we have ever done.
Jack and Daniella went above and beyond from the moment we met them; nothing was too much to ask. They made us feel so special every time we went to visit (which was a lot). We had to re-arrange a number of times due to covid and everyone was so accommodating. They were super chill as well which massively helped.
Our wedding day was magical. The venue is stunning. The food was incredible. Jack and Daniella took care of everything and the whole day ran so smoothly. We got married in the up-stream area and then walked down to the tipi area and honestly it was the best day of my life. The little touches that they added on the run-up and during the week of our wedding was so special, too.
We still feel so lucky that we were able to get married at Gisburne Park. I honestly, honestly, cannot recommend this enough ♥️-
