The Dreamiest Wedding Venue
We had our wedding at Lusty Beg this July, and it was better than we could have ever hoped for.
We need to start describing the experience from the very beginning. We went for a venue tour in 2023, as we were hoping to marry in the summer of 2024. They showed us everything! They were very attentive and displayed immense patience with all the naïve questions one might have when they’ve never been married before.
After we decided on a date and paid the deposit, we had problems with my visa, which led us to delay the wedding to 2025. The Lusty Beg team was completely understanding, and we did not lose our deposit. If we were to keep a score, it would already look like this: Lusty Beg 1 – Other wedding venues 0.
During the planning stage, you have access to unlimited communication with the Events and Wedding Team. They truly go above and beyond to make your ideas come to life. There was nothing Lisa or Jade said no to. And mind you, we asked if we could have: a bouncy castle (which we ended up not renting because of the prospect of rain), a piñata, Venezuelan food, a table of temporary tattoos, confetti, an ice cream cart, and bubble wands.
For the menu tasting, you get a complimentary night on the island. Many of our friends who had gotten married recently were surprised that the tasting at Lusty Beg was just for us, as they had to do theirs with about 30 other people. It was such a romantic experience, and we never felt pressured or rushed at any point.
On the wedding day, you have a master of ceremonies included in the venue fee. Bernie and her assistant Alex allowed me to be the most relaxed bride, as I didn’t need to worry about a single thing on the day.
Our cake was badly damaged during transportation, and once again, Lusty Beg came to the rescue. The head chef managed to separate both tiers and even added decorations to fix it!
Another topic that must be mentioned is the décor they offer. By having our wedding at Lusty Beg, we managed to save a lot of money since they provide centerpieces, aisle runners, blossom trees for the entrance, linens, and easels free of charge.
It’s also worth noting how gorgeous the spaces are for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies. This meant we didn’t need to worry about the weather, as the team was prepared to move everything outside in a heartbeat if it cleared up, even 30 minutes before the ceremony.
Our ceremony ended up being inside, and I thought I’d feel sad because I always envisioned getting married outdoors. But that wasn’t the case at all. The room looked stunning, and everything felt so intimate.
It was very important to us to get married in a place that had enough rooms to accommodate our guests. We’ve been to weddings where only the couple and bridal party could stay, which I find a bit impolite. But at Lusty Beg, it was no problem. Our entire family and friends (who wanted to stay) were able to, with options for three bedroom lodges, family rooms, studio cabins, double rooms, and more.
Another non-negotiable for us was having everything at the same venue, and Lusty Beg did not disappoint. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous for photos, and it truly feels like your own private island since they only host one wedding per day. We had also rented their rib boat for a photos around the island. Unfortunately, we couldn’t use it due to the rain, but the very fact that this option exists is more than most venues could realistically offer.
The next day, you can have a BBQ in the Thatch Cottage. You only pay for the food, as the cottage rental is included in your wedding fee. It was such a hit! Our families LOVED the food, and having a private bar just for us made it even more special. It was so cosy. We brought our microphones and amps and had a fantastic Day 2 celebration.
We were also able to book the heated indoor pool at the spa just for ourselves, as it’s complimentary for staying guests.
I can’t imagine a more perfect wedding. We were never stressed or worried. There was no room in my heart for anything but happiness.
A massive thank you to Lisa, Jade, Alex, and Bernie for their never-ending patience and for making us the happiest couple ever.
