Our Real Wedding

We chose the venue because I’d studied a horticulture course at the farm attached and we visit the monthly farmers’ market.  I’d also been to a friend’s wedding there a few years back and loved the banqueting suite. Laura was our wedding co-ordinator and was excellent.  We had access to the venue on the Friday and Saturday all day, so were able to take and arrange everything we’d organised ourselves either on Friday or Saturday morning – flowers (all home grown), table arrangements, menu/place settings, confetti, card baskets, sweet table etc.  Laura was happy to let us make a total mess with the flowers and clear up/hoover behind us, leaving the venue spotless.  We were lucky enough to have our cake and photos/videos done by family. We used Forty Hall’s supplier, Beaumont for catering and décor, and Focus Events for the DJ – and we could not be happier. The arrangement of all of our bits, the room layout and turnaround was seamless.  Laura made sure everything was placed and looked lovely.  At no point did we worry or have to ask about when something was happening. We didn’t taste the food in advance, but the canapes, wedding breakfast and evening meal – a superb rendang curry which everyone raved about, were all absolutely delicious and superb portion sizes.  They managed to cater for all our dietary requirements, dairy and nut allergies, vegetarian and vegan. We had 38 guests during the day and 30 evening guests and provided souvenir drinks tokens for all in their ‘favour’ bags, so got these back at the end of the evening to give to our guests.  The DJ took a spotify playlist in advance, the songs chosen by our guests, managed to play everyone’s choices through the evening and the dance floor was never empty.  The bar staff were great and also seemed to enjoy the music. We asked our guests to help themselves to vases/flowers at the end of the evening, and went back to the venue on Monday morning to do a final collection of everything else. I’d thoroughly recommend Forty Hall and Beaumont.  Definitely great value for money too – I think we spent around £9k in total.  There is nobody on site permanently so it meant organising return visits to look at the venue weren’t that easy – and we went back 3 or 4 times.  Emails took a while to be answered.  But the final month leading up to the wedding was seamless – so thank you to everyone involved in making it such a memorable day.
