03 Sep, 2026Our Real Wedding
We wanted our reception to be near home, so we could get married at our church that we regularly attend, with our priest that we adore marrying us. We wanted to really lean into the joyful colours of autumn with deep, rich and warm hues, which was really reflected in the burnt orange bridesmaid dresses, green suits and super vivid flowers! It represented the time of year and the unfiltered joy that is also reflected in the photography. We wanted a timeless and classic day, but without it feeling stuffy or pretentious. Bits of fun were sprinkled in with the photo booth and audio guestbook, plus classic London buses and taxis as transport!
We picked our photographer for his natural storytelling style. We didn’t want to feel like we were playing up and posing for the camera; it just didn’t suit us, as we’re not photogenic like that. We also just wanted the real and raw emotions of the day, with people laughing, smiling and crying without noticing they were being photographed. It made for some amazing photography that showed us little moments we were too swept up to remember, or perfectly captured little moments that transport us right back to the memory of our best day ever.
