15 Jan, 2025Our Real Wedding
We wanted our wedding day to be something truly special - just the two of us. We decided to elope to Scotland, surrounded by the stunning nature we both love. We chose St Cyrus beach in Aberdeenshire and booked a cosy Airbnb on the cliffs as our little hideaway.
On the morning of the elopement, I was finishing my makeup and slipping into my flowing dress when the photographer and videographer arrived. Lukasz saw me for the first time, and it was such a sweet, emotional moment - he even helped zip up my dress. With everything ready, we walked down the little donkey path to the beach, carrying a picnic and all our excitement.
Hand in hand and barefoot on the sand, with The Ordinary by Alex Warren softly playing in the background, we walked towards the registrar. The waves were gently lapping the shore, and it felt like the whole world had paused just for us.
Our ceremony was intimate and emotional - filled with laughter, tears (so many from me!), and beautiful Scottish traditions. We tied the knot, drank from the quaich, and shared our first kiss as husband and wife with nobody else in sight.

Then came our picnic - champagne, cake, and delicious food. A friend had gifted us a bottle of champagne called “Cyrus,” which felt like fate for our St Cyrus wedding. We even had a joyful confetti toss with petals from our photographer’s garden, followed by a champagne spray and our first dance on the sand. Our dance was to a special mix of songs: Sia’s Snowman, Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things, and of course, I’ve Had the Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing.
We ended the day perfectly - just us, heading to a local pub.
It was relaxed, intimate, and completely ours. Looking back, it feels like the most authentic way we could have celebrated our love: full of laughter, happy tears, and little moments we’ll never forget.
Later, we had our big wedding party in Italy with all our family and friends - but we are so happy that we first got to say yes just the two of us, without all the pressure that comes with a big wedding.
