25 May, 2025Our Real Wedding
Me and my partner have been together for 15 years, since we were 16 years old. We got engaged in August 2023, at South Lodge hotel in Surrey, where we stayed for the night. I had no idea he was going to propose, he had arranged a dinner at the hotel that night but before we went we had gone for a walk through the grounds, this is where there was a picnic blanket with champagne and flowers laid out for us. Originally i thought he had planned this trip, as a belated birthday surprise as we was unable to celebrate it in the May. We had sat down for a while to chat and that's when he got down on one knee! There was no one else around, apart from just me and him.
Fast forward a few months, we then decided to set our wedding date for 25/05/2025. We had also spoke about having a small wedding, well as small as we could considering the amount of family and friends etc. That's when we chose to do it at Club Langley, as this was a venue where we had been before for other parties etc and knew it was close to home for most people.

I had spent an hour or so trying on different dresses and showing them to my mum, nan and two aunties, before eventually it coming down between two dresses. I decided to keep the dress and surprise and not tell anyone what I had chose until revealing on the day.
My partner had always said that he wanted to wear a white/cream blazer for wedding so he had already had this in mind when going to choose his suit.
For flowers, cake and décor we just wanted to keep it white and simple. Although the bridesmaids were in blue, we wanted to keep the rest of the colour to a minimum, so we decided on white flowers and white cake, with some gold added to little details.
My favourite moment from the wedding would be the ceremony, i wasn't as nervous as i thought i would be, but felt emotional after seeing my partner crying. I was more excited than anything, to be able to finally marry my childhood sweetheart!
Being able to celebrate with our family and friends was something i'll never forget!
