The best photographer around
Richard captured the wedding completely with his skill as a photographer. When I was searching for a photographer for my wedding I wanted someone who could get a variety of photos - structured & posed, fun & candid etc - he hit every single part and the photos he produced are incredible. I’m not sure how he’s done it but there aren’t any photos where either us or our guests look awkward or at bad angles. He is truly skilled. My favourite part was him running over to me and my husband to move us into a neighbouring field to have us take golden hour photos - something I would never had thought of doing! Richard was so lovely and helpful to us from the start. He had great suggestions about timings of the day and things we might like photos of.
We wanted someone who wouldn't feel intrusive or make guests feel as though they couldn't take their own photos. Richard was just wonderfully patient and let people get their own pictures first. He put us at ease during the couples shoots too. We felt in really safe hands all day.
He was always in the right place to get the perfect shot! We have already had the whole album back just 4 days later and they are absolutely beautiful. Such an artistic eye. Our friends and family are thrilled with the photos too. We are beyond happy with the photos that have so perfectly captured our day. Thank you so much, Richard. -

Richard was exceptional. From start to finish, he was very professional and helped us establish what we wanted to get from our photos along the way.
We had loads of communication beforehand and by the time we got to the big day, we felt very comfortable working with him. We didn’t have to think about anything - he was always where he needed to be and making sure he was getting the shots that we wanted.
We felt very comfortable having couples shots with him- All of our guest told us how lovely and friendly he was too. He was very down to earth, and it was great having him give us ideas of what might look good in terms of backdrops and poses.
We got our photos back very quickly and we are blown away. They are so much better than we excepted, and we are so thrilled.
We cannot recommend him enough, he is a brilliant, talented photographer and we are very grateful he captured our day so beautifully! -

We recruited Richard to take our wedding photos based on his gorgeous portfolio and he went above and beyond. More than that Richard is a lovely, down-to-earth fellow with such a cheerful attitude that relaxes anyone being photographed. He was so thorough all day, catching every great moment and moving like a chameleon throughout the whole event. It's been a joy today looking at all of the posed and candid snapshots with our favourite people and regardless of the weather, Richard makes everything look dreamy!
Hugely recommend Richard Wakefield for any of your photography needs and can guarantee you will not be disappointed. -

Richard was brilliant to work with from start to finish. We loved his focus on natural photos, playing beautifully with light and capturing the most important moments of the day. From our initial video call, we knew we had to pick Richard as he made us feel so much at ease, he was really down to earth and seemed to understand that neither of us were very confident in front of the camera! Communication throughout was great and he even arrived a little early and stayed later, just to get all the shots for us. He is absolutely lovely and we have had comments from our guests about how friendly he was, how it felt like he was a wedding guest and how impressed they were. We are so happy with our shots and could not recommend him highly enough. Thank you Richard for capturing all the beautiful moments, the laughs, the tears and joy from the day. We will treasure our photos, always! -

Unbelievably fantastic
From minute one, Richard was fantastic. We discussed ideas for pictures and styles of pictures prior to the big day and Richard was realistic but very open minded about what 0we wanted (pictures on top of box hill - on a semi rainy day). On the day he was incredible, he manged to get lots of candid photos as well as posed pictures and threw in a couple off the cuff as we'd had a magnificent double rainbow appear which just made some of the pictures look amazing. Every time there was an opportunity, he was able to capture it - i guess that's his job but that's what made him so good.
Overall:
Literally everything we wanted and more. The pictures that came out were incredible. Would 100% recommend.

Amazing Wedding Photographer
Richard was easygoing and helpful from the initial video call. He was so helpful amd responded to all of our questions. On the day, he was a lovely guy to have around - when we noticed him, which wasn't very often! He was keen to capture any particular shots we wanted, but gave lots of helpful suggestions as well :) Our guests all commented on what a lovely guy he was, and such a friendly photographer. We cannot recommend Richard highly enough. From initially reaching out to him, he was responsive, thoughtful, accommodating and friendly - during the planning process, we had multiple different vendors who he was working with tell us what a pleasure it was to deal with him, and we certainly found the same. Richard was in touch early on, and we really appreciated the call he suggested to run through the day. He really captured our wedding perfectly; his photography is professional and extremely high-quality, while at the same time managing to capture the personalities of us and our guests. One of the guests said after the wedding that they were particularly impressed that Richard was not overbearing or demanding, but nevertheless created an excellent wedding album.
We couldn't be happier, and highly recommend Richard. -
