Neil was absolutely amazing! All of our wedding photos are beautiful, he really captured every moment of our special day. He was super friendly and supported us with every step with planning what kind of photos we were looking for and advice on the group photos too. We had a few video calls with Neil and he called us a couple of days before our wedding to go over the final details. Neil knew exactly how we wanted our photos and answered all of our questions and put us at ease! On our wedding day Neil was brilliant and we were all chatting about bird watching inbetween photo shoots!Neil Senior Photography's reply:

Our wedding
I feel incredibly sad writing this, especially after seeing all the amazing reviews Neil has received.
Neil photographed our wedding in December. When we received the photos, I was disappointed to see that some key moments and important people were missing. There were also many images that felt less meaningful—for example, over 50 photos of empty venue tables, but none of my children.
I reached out to Neil because I simply wanted to understand this and talk it through. Unfortunately, he declined a phone call and his responses felt abrupt. I then emailed my concerns and again asked if we could speak. When we eventually spoke, I felt the conversation became defensive, with blame directed at myself, the videographer, and the venue, rather than addressing my concerns.
I want to be clear that I do not question Neil’s talent—there are some beautiful photos that we will truly cherish. However, I had expected more focus on capturing meaningful moments and important people on such an important day.
Neil later sent some additional photos, which were lovely, but this left me confused as to why they were not included in the original set.
Looking back, I do wish we had insisted on a call before the wedding. Neil had said his experience meant this wasn’t necessary. This is something that I regret especially seeing he has offered this to other clients
While we do have some beautiful images, I am deeply disappointed that irreplaceable moments—especially photos of my children—were missed and special moments where half the picture has been cut off. These are memories we cannot recreate. Unfortunately I feel Neil made himself part of our key moments rather than capturing them .The lack of accountability and professionalism in handling this after has made it even more upsetting and disappointing .Neil Senior Photography's reply:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Lauren. I’m genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed, as that is never my intention for any couple.
I would like to gently clarify a few points for context. In the lead-up to your wedding, I had numerous phone calls with both you and your partner, including one conversation that lasted around 45 minutes where I offered support and guidance during the difficulties you were experiencing with your venue. I care deeply about my couples beyond simply providing a service, and I hope that support was felt at the time.
The morning before your 6am engagement shoot, I woke at 5am to check the lighting conditions and prepare so that we could make the most of the early start. I always go above and beyond behind the scenes to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible and that the results reflect that preparation. We spoke in detail about your wedding during the engagement shoot and a month before the wedding I offered you a zoom call which you declined
Your gallery included multiple photographs of your children and key family moments throughout the day. Venue detail images — including tables and décor — are a standard and important part of wedding storytelling, and something I consistently provide to all couples. Your contract included 600 images, and I delivered over 900 edited photographs.
After delivery, you initially sent a message saying you were happy with the photos, which I truly appreciated. When you later reached out with concerns, I responded promptly and offered to review everything again. I did not decline a call; I simply asked that you outline your concerns fully in an email first so I could properly understand and take on board everything you were unhappy with, and respond thoughtfully and clearly. Although I had suggested keeping communication in writing for clarity, we did later speak by phone. Unfortunately, that conversation became quite heated and I was shouted at and not given the opportunity to speak. Despite this, I remained calm and professional throughout. I subsequently sent additional images in good faith, as I always aim to ensure my couples feel supported.
Weddings are live events, and I work carefully to capture moments as they naturally unfold. I never intentionally miss important people or memories, and I certainly never make myself “part” of key moments — my role is always to document them respectfully and unobtrusively.
I am proud of the many wonderful couples I’ve worked with and the consistent feedback I receive. That said, I am always open to constructive conversation and reflection. I am confused as to why this review has been posted now, particularly after your message at the end of January expressing how happy you were with your images (screenshot attached for context).
Since establishing my business in 2013, I have never received a negative review or formal complaint. I have always worked with care, professionalism and dedication for every couple I photograph, and I remain committed to those standards.

Exceeded expectations
Neil you have absolutely surpassed our expectations. The photos you took not only captured the authenticity of our day but brought it back to life for us to keep for many years to come. You were chilled, friendly and in the nicest possible way we hardly knew you were there! From the very first email and zoom, Neil was kind, empathetic, authentic, curious, creative, funny and made us feel completely relaxed. Neither me nor my partner are in front of the camera much, and I often feel anxious and awkward, but both our engagement shoot and wedding day were pure joy. I loved Neil's documentary style and colour grading when I came across his website, but what really makes his photos so stunning and the time with him so lovely is his ability to make people feel at ease. He is very generous with his time and by the time our wedding came around he was no longer "only" a supplier but a friend. Neil is brilliant, second to none as a photographer, flawlessly professional and goes out of his way to make is work as sustainable as possible, which was very important to us and very hard to find in the wedding industry.
