Matt is a professional singer and guitarist with over 20 years of experience as a live performer and session musician. As well as performing all around the United Kingdom, Matt has performed around Europe on the Greek Cyclades islands, exclusive ski resorts in Austria, luxury weddings in Italy, and further afield in Indonesia, Thailand and America.

Matt has worked extensively around the world on cruise ships such as the newest luxury flagships of the Princess Cruise line and toured the states as a session musician. Some of that experience was opening for huge acts in the US and Canada, such as David Gray, Jason Mraz, Christina Perri and The Fray, or performing for Stevie Nicks, YouTube, VH1, and appearing on The Tonight Show.

As an accomplished guitarist, he can use intimate finger style guitar playing along with soulful vocals to render heartfelt and emotional love songs, or for a different mood, combine guitar rhythms, lead guitar and beatboxing with vocal and guitar loops to create reimagined cover versions of your favourite songs that are full of energy and captivating to a live audience.

His versatile singing style takes inspiration from soul, blues and rock, delivered with his unique and earthy vocal tone to convey songs in an elegant and professional style that is simultaneously distinctive and full of character. I have over 20 years of experience as a performer at weddings and events as well as working all over the world as a solo performer and with bands

Do you need specific materials or conditions to offer your service?

No

Can you travel?

Yes, with my own equipment I can cover all of the British Isles (travel expenses calculated based on distance/time). Outside of Britain will require equipment rental as well as travel expenses

Is there a charge for travelling?

Yes, i charge 45p/mile after the first 20 miles within Great Britain. Prices for outside of Great Britain are subject to travel expenses & equipment rental

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Yes

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

Alone

What is the length of time of the act?

I can play for up to 2hrs continuously for a relaxed drinks reception, but in most cases my performances are broken up into two to four 45 minute sets (or the duration of a wedding ceremony)

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

I'm ready to perform at very short notice if available, but I need more time to learn songs that you have picked for me to learn specifically for your event

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

Weddings don't always go precisely to plan and I'm happy to accommodate if things run late. Adding extra time to my performance can be negotiated on the day at approximately £100/hr

Payment can be via bank transfer or in cash

By far our best wedding booking!

Matt was the best part of our wedding experience! He was incredible value for money, was able to learn the songs we asked for and played them incredibly, from playing my bridesmaids down the aisle and then switching to a track for me to walk down the aisle, then playing us out of the ceremony, finishing with an incredible setlist for our afternoon drinks reception. He's not only talented and communicative, but also so friendly and helpful - I cannot recommend him more and we were honoured to have him at our big day. Thanks again, Matt!

Great Singer and Good Acoustic Set

Matthew sang at my wedding during the afternoon drinks reception. He has a lovely voice and a well balanced set, accommodating a variety of guests musical tastes.
Having Matthew singing ensured that our guests stayed during the period after the wedding breakfast and the evening disco when many would typically disappear to check into their rooms. It was also a lovely welcome for those guests arriving for the evening disco.
Matthew was reliable, reasonably priced and had a long list of longs that he covers. Very happy that we hired him for the day and would recommend to others.

Perfect for our first dance

Matt was amazing on our wedding day! We chose him after finding him online as we wanted a live singer for our first dance and he already had our song in his list. We loved that he was able to add to such a memorable moment on our wedding day with a song that was special to us. We also had him perform during our wedding breakfast and all of our guests loved having some live music during the day. Matt was friendly and very responsive when we enquired to book him and flexible for travel around the UK as our wedding was in North Wales. He has a wide variety of songs and genres in his repertoire and was open to our request to avoid certain songs or artists that we weren't fond of. We highly recommend Matt!

The perfect choice

Matt performed at the evening reception of our small Harrogate wedding. He is an amazing musician and read the room expertly to keep the dance floor full. Ahead of the day Matt was accommodating to our requests and provided guidance based on his own experience of what works well. His performance really was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Impeccable, soulful and sophisticated

Matt is an exceptional musician and provided the perfect ambience to our welcome drinks. Many guests were shocked when they realised it was live as they thought it was a backing track! Very diverse list of songs ideal for a mixed age range and background music to disco boogy.

Matt made our day! 💯% recommend!

Matt played on our wedding day, making the ceremony and reception absolutely perfect. His relaxed, can-do will-do attitude was second to none and his openness to addd ‘our song’ into the ceremony and well, was magical.

We loved his efficient communication, willingness to play all our favourites, professionalism, warmth and awesome music. It provided the most perfect background to our day, bringing a relaxing and light atmosphere.
