We booked Martha through our wedding planner to play at our wedding ceremony in July 2027. We were impressed by her harp-playing on social media and were excited for her to play at our wedding.

Martha requested a deposit and we paid this on April 2026. Our wedding planner asked Martha to confirm receipt of the deposit and also to correct the wedding date on the booking form, as the form provided an incorrect date for the wedding. Concerningly, this was followed by radio silence from Martha. Over the course of the next 5 weeks, our planner sent Martha multiple emails seeking a response and tried to call her. Aside from one message from Martha saying that she was busy with shoots and would respond soon, we heard nothing. This was despite her actively posting on social media throughout this period.

We became increasingly concerned about Martha’s lack of communication in response to what were simple requests for information. It was unclear whether Martha had received our money or whether the correct date had even been reserved for us. This also led us to be concerned about whether we could rely on Martha to turn up on our wedding day. Eventually, I reached out to her myself via Instagram. I received a defensive response from Martha citing personal life events as the reason why she had not responded. While we were sorry to hear about her personal circumstances, we were surprised as not once had she mentioned this to our planner as the reason for not responding. There was no apology or even acknowledgment that her lack of communication might have caused concern to us.

We have since cancelled the booking. Martha has not returned our deposit to us.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience and the only blight so far in our otherwise smooth wedding planning experience.

We couldn't be happier with Martha and would recommend her to everyone wanting beautiful music during their wedding.
Before the big day, we spoke to Martha about the genre of music we wanted her to play and she absolutely made our dreams come true. All the guests were in awe of her talent.

Martha also asked us what outfit we want her to wear to ensure she matched our wedding theme.
