Based in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, the Kings String Quartet is a professional musical group that performs at weddings. Formed in 2008, this ensemble of highly skilled musicians has played at events and venues across the UK. Whether you want traditional, classical, or contemporary music played on your special day, the Kings String Quartet are a perfect fit.
The Kings Quartet cover a wide area across the Cotswolds and West Midlands but are happy to travel further afield. Recent events they have played at include Villa Park, Bristol Aerospace and a wedding at the foot of Mount Snowden.
The string quartet is made up of two violins, a viola and a cello. The group has a repertoire of over 500 songs including popular ceremony choices such as Pachelbel's Canon and Marry You by Bruno Mars. From Bach to the Beatles, Tchaikovsky to Taylor Swift they have it all covered.
Services Offered
Every performance is planned according to your vision for the big day. The quartet will discuss the musical lineup with you, ensuring you and your guests have a wonderful experience. Guests can also make song requests during the cocktail hour. All they have to do is scan a QR code that will be provided and select their favourite song from our entire song list.

Is it possible to request something that's not in the repertoire?
Yes. You can choose to have one song arranged especially for you free of charge (terms apply). Additional songs can be requested for an additional fee
What's your experience?
We have been together for over 16 years, performing at hundreds of weddings.
As professional musicians we have all played at many top locations in the UK and abroad as well as doing film and TV work
Do you have your own equipment?

Yes, we are based in Worcestershire and play at events across England and Wales
Is there a charge for travelling?
Yes, travel will be included in any quote which we give you.
For events over 150 miles from Worcester an additional £120 is added to cover accommodation costs
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

What is the length of time of the act?
Usually between 2 and 4 hours.
Our standard wedding package is 3 hours in length
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
Our set up is quick so usually 20 minutes is plenty. If venue staff are on hand to assist with chairs this makes the set-up even quicker
Do you do open-air acts?

Do you charge per hour or per event?
Per hour
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

How do you charge extra time?
If requested on the day and agreed to it is £300 per extra hour. If requested in advance (but after the contract is signed) it is £160 per extra hour
What are the forms of payment?
Payment is usually done by bank transfer. We require a deposit on booking and the balance to be paid 2 weeks before the wedding day.

Amazing Quartet
The Kings String Quartet provided an excellent service and were professional and played beautifully. They brought so much elegance and joy to the reception, and many of our guests have since commented on how much they enjoyed your performance. The perfect finishing touch to our Drinks Reception
Really happy that we had the Kings String Quartet play during the drinks reception at our wedding. They played beautifully and really set a lovely atmosphere for our drinks reception in the sun. It was really simply to request songs on the day and chose from their repertoire before the day. Perfect, thank you!!

Truly Magical Wedding Proposal
Kings Quartet performed for us last night when we got engaged and quite honestly, I do not have the words to say just how incredible they were. Their playing was absolutely phenomenal, and they are all truly wonderful people. They made our day so special - nothing I could say could be a high enough recommendation. Not only that, but as it was a surprise, there were a fair few unknowns involved in the build up. This was no problem for them at all, and they worked with me and tweaked bits and pieces here and there, from songs to the playlist to anything else I asked. They even performed the first song as a trio so that one member could take some photos for us, which we will cherish forever. Their responsiveness and flexibility was second to none. The most special day of my life so far and Kings Quartet had a massive role to play in that. If you are reading this review, please don't look any further. Truly magical.

Wonderful service, made our wedding day very special!
Absolutely great service from King's Quartet. Super responsive to queries, polite and competent throughout. They made our day extra special by learning 2 new pieces and performed these absolutely wonderfully. They were so professional and excellent on the day; such wonderful performers too- our musical friends were very impressed which I think is a very high accolade! Cannot recommend enough- Dan and the quartet will make your wedding dat very special - They really went above and beyond.

We go married at Bredenbury Court Barns. We booked these gifted musicians to play at our wedding and through our ceremony. Dan was so helpful and prompt with every message and attention to detail.. As I waited to enter the ceremony with my little bridesmaids, their music was so beautiful, I felt so calm. Fortunately the weather was superb and we had drinks and canopies outside. They came our and played out there for us. It was magical listening to them play, it truly made my day. They really are excellent. 5*

Brilliant string quartet
Kings String Quartet played at our wedding and I can’t fault them! They were so talented, kind and really engaging, taking fun requests from my friends. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, it was a really lovely experience and created the perfect atmosphere for the perfect day!

Amazing quartet for our wedding
Dan and the string quartet played at our wedding in August and they were fantastic. Dan was responsive, had an amazing repertoire and nothing was too much. A lot of our guests were really impressed. They even had a tablet setup so that people could make requests. Thank you, we loved having you at our special day!

Excellent team
We had kings string quartet play at our wedding in Herefordshire and they were fantastic. They were very professional and were even kind enough to learn a song for me walking down the aisle which had sentimental value to me. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quartet
