Based in the far north Highlands of Scotland in the town of Thurso, Caithness Violinist is the UK's most northerly professional wedding violinist. With a Classical music background, Caithness Violinist specialises in violin covers, covering a wide range of genres - from classic hits by the BEATLES or ABBA, to modern favourites by TAYLOR SWIFT, through to film music, such as LORD OF THE RINGS and BRAVEHEART. She plays an amplified acoustic violin, which means that sound effects, volume, and reverb can all be altered to suit the venue and the number of guests, whilst still preserving the sweet sound of an acoustic violin. An experienced performer and teacher, Caithness Violinist has played across a range of venues for a range of functions - from weddings and public outdoor events to charity shops, care homes and cafés. To-date, her most unusual wedding booking has been inside a very tropical Botanical glasshouse (summer 2025), and her most unusual aisle walk request has been the theme music to TOP GUN MAVERICK (summer 2024) !
