🚫 Extremely Disappointed with the Wedding Centre, Randalstown 🚫
What should have been a special and exciting experience choosing wedding suits turned into an absolute nightmare.
We purchased four suits and hired three. Two of the hired suits arrived with missing buttons, which meant that on the morning of our wedding we were sewing them back on in a panic.
But the worst issue by far was with our eldest son’s suit. From our very first visit, we explained that he struggles with confidence. He is also autistic, and all we wanted was for him to feel comfortable and happy. We made it clear, over and over, that we didn’t care how much alterations cost, as long as they were done properly.
Despite being measured twice, we were made to feel like an inconvenience at the earlier appointments, told it was “too soon” for him to be measured or have a suit ordered. When they finally did measure him, after constant chasing and phone calls,we later found out they had forgotten to send his suit to the seamstress. This led to a rushed 30 second fitting just before she went on holiday, which was hands down the most uncomfortable experience we’ve ever had. The seamstress was rude, dismissive, and barely spent five seconds measuring our son.
We still paid £110 for alterations without complaint, trusting his suit would fit. But when he finally tried it on, it was a disaster. The waistcoat was so enormous you could have fit two of him inside it. Two days before the wedding, we contacted the Wedding Centre in desperation, only to be told nothing could be done because the seamstress was on holiday. Our only “options” were to somehow find our own seamstress (impossible with no time left) or use safety pins. On our wedding day, our son had to be pinned into his suit. 💔
He was devastated. Heartbroken. And we were left trying to answer his painful questions about why his suit didn’t fit, and why he didn’t look as smart as his brother.
When we returned the suits, staff admitted it was unacceptable after seeing how our son had been pinned into his waistcoat. His trousers were also ruined because the legs were far too long. But management was “not available.” After weeks of chasing, we were told we’d only get £90 back instead of the £110 we paid, despite promises made to us by staff and even the manager before the wedding. Still, no resolution has been offered regarding the faulty rented suits.
This whole experience caused us stress and heartbreak during what should have been one of the happiest times of our lives. Instead of joyful memories, we’re left with bitter disappointment.
Brides, grooms, and families, please think twice before trusting the Wedding Centre in Randalstown with your special day, especially if you have a child with additional needs who isn’t a standard size.
