Sue is such a wonderful person, and a real pleasure to work with on our wedding, she made our wedding cake this May and from the first she was very keen to get everything right for our day. Getting to have a taste of the many fabulous flavours available was great and helped us pick our perfect combination. Sue had many great ideas to create a cake tat was just what we had in mind, in fact, better than what we had in mind. We met Sue at a Wedding Show at Shuttleworth where we were able to have a chat with her and to take home a sample of her cakes and honestly they were so lovely, we knew we had to have her make our wedding cake!! We wanted cupcakes for ease in giving to our guests so when we had our tasting session we spoke about what we wanted and tasted all the amazing flavours!! Sue was so helpful at the tasting session and we bonded over how much love we had for dogs!! I had seen so many pictures online of people having their dogs at their wedding but knew that we couldn’t have ours there so we wanted a way to bring her with us. Sue was able to bring to life an idea I had and made a sugar model of our baby Kay just from a few pictures I sent and it was so realistic!! (pics of the model of Kay and a pic of real life Kay for reference). Even after the wedding when I had a slight mishap with the model as her tail snapped off, Sue was happy to mend her and to slightly move the tail round so we could display it in our house going forward.
Could not recommend Sue enough, our venue was outside of her usual area but her pricing of extra travel distance was so reasonable so don’t let that put you off! She is so amazing and her cakes taste delicious😍The Crafty Baker's reply:

The most beautiful (and delicious!) dairy-free wedding cake
We weren’t even sure we were going to have a wedding cake until we met Sue at a wedding fair. She was so warm and genuine that we booked a tasting on the spot, and we’re so glad we did!
Sue invited us into her home for the tasting and had made a full selection of dairy-free cakes just for me (I have a dairy allergy). Every single one was delicious, and from the moment we sat down, she made us feel like part of her family.
She designed our cake based on our chat, and it was absolutely perfect, stunning to look at and completely dairy-free without compromising on flavour. So many of our guests commented on how good it was.
It’s clear Sue absolutely loves what she does, and she puts her heart into it. If we ever need a cake again, we’ll be going straight to her and we’ve already started recommending her to friends.
Thank you so much, Sue, for making something so personal and beautiful for our big day!

Sue is absolutely incredible, we were so lucky to find her for our wedding. We were able to sample her flavours before we decided. That was the hardest part as they were all so delicious. Sue communicated with us all the time making sure we were happy. She even told us how the weather can have an affect on the cake! 100% recommended. Just perfect. Our cake vision became a reality
Thank you so much for our beautiful wedding cake!! It was just gorgeous to look at and tasted even better.
I can't thank Susan enough for how amazing she was through the whole process from ordering samples right up to our wedding day, there was always a prompt response to all emails, even the slightest change (which as non-bakers we wouldn't have noticed) she still checked with us. The cake looked even better than I thought it would, and the flowers were just perfect. Everyone of our guests said it was a lovely cake, and we've even managed to save some for the future in the freezer which I'm excited for as well.
Susan is honestly an incredible baker! Thank you so so much for making our cake vision a reality, and making it even better than we ever imagined!!

Absolutely fantastic!
We were completely blown away by Sue’s incredible skills! We were initially unsure whether to have a wedding cake at all, but we are so glad we did.
From start to finish, Sue was so helpful, kind, and attentive. She understood exactly what we envisioned and brought it to life - the final design was even more stunning and intricate than we could have ever imagined. And the taste… absolutely phenomenal!

Delicious and beautiful cake
From the very first tasting we knew we had found the perfect cake maker for our wedding. She was so welcoming from the start, so kind and accommodating to everything we asked for and her prices were really reasonable too. The cake was absolutely delicious and all of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it was. We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough.The Crafty Baker's reply:

Beautiful and tasty cake!
Sue was great from start to finish. We had a lovely tasting session and discussed ideas for the cake and what to expect on the big day.
She made the most beautiful 3 teir cake with piped roses matching our colour scheme and it tasted amazing!
And like magic it was all set up and ready for when it was needed.

Fabulous baker
I have used The Crafty Baker for several celebration cakes so there was no doubt when it came to our wedding cake on who we would like to make it. Sue is professional from start to finish. Our consultation in her home was friendly and she went through all our options . We had an idea of a bespoke wedding topper that was personal to us not thinking it would be possible - she said she loves a challenge . Sue delivered our cake to the venue and we chose not to see the cake beforehand as we wanted a surprise. We were blown away with it all. Not only did it look fantastic it fitted in with our autumn colours which was not an easy thing when we are talking flamingos. We had a 3 tier cake all different flavours and it was delicious and had many comments . Sue keeps in touch as well which is good and makes you feel settled . I will certainly use The Crafty Baker again and would recommend Sue to anyone who is after a perfect cake.The Crafty Baker's reply:

What started as a wedding cake order has become much more than that.
My husband found Crafty Baker to do Mother’s Day cupcakes for my first year as a mum, and the second I tasted that sponge, I knew we’d found our wedding cake supplier.
Sue is an artist, a creative cake maker with a true passion for delivering beyond the bake. She is a stickler for health and safety (important as a nut-allergic family) and most importantly, she is a wonderful human.
We have consistently used Sue to mark every occasion possible: our wedding, anniversary, son’s birthday, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, even a friend’s loss was marked with a condolence cake.
