About Emma Olliff

Your wedding day is one of the most significant days of your life, and I understand the importance of looking your best, but still looking like you

Let me take care of you and your bridal party and we will work together to create the exact look you have always envisioned for your wedding day. I will enhance your best features using only natural and cruelty free skincare and makeup, and promise to leave you looking glowing and radiant for one of the most important days of your life.

My job is to enhance, not mask, my brides’ natural beauty. To do this, I spend the time needed to get to know the brides I work with, so I can understand who they really are. I think that it’s really important to listen to what the client wants, and not to try and push my own vision or preferences.  As a wedding makeup artist, I want to create a timeless look that complements a bride’s personality and enhances their individual beauty. Mostly all I want are for my brides to feel confident. confident in knowing they look fantastic.

We will start off with a quick consultation either via email or over the phone so I can get an idea of your style and your requirements. We will then arrange a hair &/or makeup trial which can either take place at my house in Hove, UK, or in the comfort of your own home. At the trial we will decide on colours and practise the look so you know exactly how you will look on the day. I will stay with you until you are 100% happy and make any tweaks you would like to ensure you will look and feel your very best on the day.

All prodcuts are cruelty free and toxin free.

  • "Beautiful make up"
    Molly on 13 September 2018

Emma did my make up for my Wedding in December 2017, as well as my Bridesmaid's make up and my Mum's. It was just lovely, and exactly what I had in mind! I had wanted quite a natural look and Emma created this perfectly. It was natural, but with a glow which showed in pictures too. We were all delighted with our make up and all felt also that Emma was so friendly and warm; she made me feel very at ease, especially as the nerves began to kick in! It was a wonderful, stress-free experience and I would definitely recommend Emma!

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO BOOK YOU FOR MY WEDDING DAY??

To secure your big day, you'll need to complete a booking form which will be sent to you on email and you will be asked for a £50 - £100 deposit (depending on how many people I will be a making up) to secure your wedding day in my diary, by electronic bank transfer. Please note that due to the number of enquiries I receive I can't hold the date until a deposit is received.

HOW SOON SHOULD I BOOK YOU?

I receive enquiries from brides on a very regular basis, so if you know you definitely want to work with me, I recommend booking sooner rather than later as weekends in particular do get booked up very quickly.

WHAT SOMEONE ELSE ENQUIRES ABOUT MY WEDDING DATE & I HAVEN'T PAID A BOOKING FEE YET?

I will always keep you updated and advise you straight away if another bride has contacted me about your wedding date. Unfortunately I can't hold a date until a booking fee is received. This secures the date in my diary, this is why I recommend that as soon as you've decided that you'd like to work with me that we get it booked in.

HOW LONG DOES A TRIAL TAKE ?

It will take around two to three hours, depending on how many looks you want to try out! The trial is specially designed to focus just on you, so I never limit a bride to a certain length of time for this session as it's really important to me that you are happy and that we get the look perfectly suited to you, however long it takes. A trial is a no obligation appointment. If you decide at the end of the trial that you would like to go ahead, then we'll agree on next steps for your wedding day. If you would like to think about it or have other trials planned, then please let me know. ?

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY TRIAL?

It can take place as soon as you're ready to have it, ideally it's helpful to have it within three months of your big day, that way you're more likely to have an idea of the way you'd like to look. I often recommend that it happens between six weeks and two weeks before your wedding day.

WHERE DOES THE TRIAL HAPPEN?

The session will take place in the comfort of your own home or a destination of your choice. I'm based in Brighton and am currently a mobile service, please read my travel policy to see the areas I cover.

IF I HAVE LOTS OF BRIDESMAIDS WILL THERE BE ENOUGH TIME TO GET EVERYONE READY ON THE DAY?

I always make sure I arrive on time and allocate enough time for each person. If necessary I can bring an additional hair/makeup assistant and I will write you a schedule in advance for the morning. As the bride, ideally your makeup will be one of the last things you do before putting on your dress and I will stay until you are about to leave to ensure that you walk down the aisle looking fresh and radiant; ready for your big moment!

WHAT STYLE OF MAKEUP AND PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

?I work with lots of different brides with various needs and interests from whimsical, boho and quirky to vintage glam, English rose and minimalist. My kit contains a wide variety of products which are all cruelty free & vegan including Arbonne, Axiology, Buxom Cosmetics, Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup Geek, LA Girl, Lily Lolo, Ofra, Tarte, Vapour, Zao & Zoeva. I like to keep up to date with the latest trends/products and am always updating my kit with new finds.

HOW LONG WILL MY MAKEUP TAKE ON THE WEDDING DAY?

I always advise approximately one hour or so. Ideally your makeup will be one of the last things you do before putting on your dress and I will stay until you are about to leave to ensure that you walk down the aisle looking fresh and radiant; ready for your big moment!

HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY ?

I want to make sure that once you're in your dress, that you're looking and feeling your very best especially if there have been any happy tears shed! This means I usually dash off (unless previously arranged) a few minutes before you're due to leave for the ceremony.

WHEREABOUTS IN MY SCHEDULE SHOULD I FIT YOU IN? ?

I would advise towards the end. Always build in extra time to get to the ceremony and at least 30-45 minutes to get into (and enjoy the experience!) your dress. This allows you not to feel rushed so that you can cherish those final special moments, have photos, a glass of fizz and relish being the bride with your bridal party.

HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR MY BRIDAL PARTY TO HAVE THEIR MAKEUP DONE?

I would advise between 45 minutes and one hour for makeup for adults, approx 30 minutes for under-13s. Depending on the hairstyle I'd recommend 30-45 minutes. ?

I HAVE A LARGE BRIDAL PARTY, WILL YOU BE ABLE TO DO US ALL?

Absolutely! Depending on your timings I can bring an assistant along with me. This works well if you have an early wedding and would rather not start at sunrise! I always use professional, qualified and trained assistants who are experienced in bridal makeup/hair and have previously worked as part of a wedding day morning.

WHAT IS YOUR TRAVEL AND PARKING POLICY?

Therefore, the first 3 miles each way (6 miles in total) is free. Travel beyond 3 miles is charged at 45p per mile to cover mileage, an approximate travel cost will be agreed when you book your appointments.
