If you hardly ever wear makeup, choosing someone to do your wedding makeup can feel a bit… risky.

You want to look gorgeous, obviously! It’s your wedding. You’ll probably never be photographed this much again in your life!

But you also want to look in the mirror and see yourself. That’s the kind of makeup I love doing!

I’m Aleksandra, and I’ve been working with brides for over 15 years. I specialise in airbrush makeup, and one of the reasons I’ve stuck with it for so long is how beautifully light it can be on the skin. I can even things out, soften what you want softened, give the skin that really fresh finish and still leave it looking like your skin. And it lasts. Because however natural we’re keeping things, your makeup still has a full wedding day to survive.

I’m also quite interested in the woman underneath the makeup.

Tell me you hate foundation. Tell me you always rub your eyes. Tell me you’ve never worn lashes in your life and the thought of them is already annoying you. Tell me the one thing you’re worried I’ll cover up. That stuff is useful to me.

Wedding mornings can be a lot as well. Lots of people, lots of noise, everyone asking questions and suddenly somebody has lost a shoe. I’m bringing calm in the middle of all of that. Partly because I’ve done this for years, and partly because my other world is manual facial therapy and nervous system work. I notice tension. I notice when you need a minute. And I’m happy to give you one.
