So at what age do we become 'middle aged'?

It can't be 30 something (I'm 35 a week today ?)

I think pre-1970s, you were seen to be middlge aged by the time you were 35 etc coz you were married with 2.5 kids by then, eh.........

I was explaining this to my dad how the goal posts have changed big time and I think middle aged is when you hit 45+

so Ihave 9 years left before I go all sensible

I would reckon middle age starts in the 40s as Im takign it literally and assuming people will live to about 80 and 40 is the mid point of that. Its more of a state of mind as I know some young fogeys lol!

Well I had a mid life crisis last year.....I was 40 at the begining of the month....I dont feel any different on the inside to when i was 20....I just have more experience.....I dont see myself as middle aged....Age is just a number....you are as old as the man you are feeling!!

Oooh, I think I can hold out until 45. That's fine, it seems too far away to be real, so I'll stay as youth for now then!

I don't feel middle aged having turned 40 this year as well. But if it is the middle of my life I will have to live until I'm 80 at least.

I would say middle-aged is 50

I certainly dont feel middle and think it is around the 40's to 50's mark some where there

Gah i dreaded opening this post....im 37 and in actual morbid reality i am probably middle aged ? but i am more than happy to go along the lines of 50+ being middle aged (45 seems too close for me to agree with that one!)
