October Brides / Autumn Centrepieces.... Ideas please!!! *Flash*

mrs_lewis_2b, 1 of October of 2010 at 13:46 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hi,

We are getting married in October 2011, and I am looking for ideas for the table centrepieces......

I don't really want to buy big flower arrangements - I just think they are a waste.... I was thinking of something like this...

Or if anyone who is getting married this October has any pics of what they've chosen, i'd be most grateful!!

Thanks

Those are sweet! Remember that table centrepieces either have to be small anough for people to see over the top, or tall enough to be above people's line of sight. I'm having tall - calla lilies and feathers in a tall lily vase, and we'll color code the tables instead of numbering them (or someone will get upset because they're only on table 6 not 2!) We decided against candles on the grounds that some idiot will burn something they're not supposed to (we have some pretty dumb friedns!) and we're going for silk flowers becaue I can keep them afterwards.

I'm having these candelabra, they were delivered this week and are in the dining room waiting for my OH to put them in the loft!

I got them from this website they have lots of different ones, I found out about them from another Hitcher that ordered some similar ones

    https://www.melodymaison.co.uk/wedding-candelabras-and-table-centre-pieces/

If you email them and say you are buying a lot they give you 10% off, I also got some napkin rings on here. I figured that buying these at £22 each works out cheaper than flowers on the tables, then I'll ebay them afterwards, I'm going to stand them on mirror plates and put some petals and scatter crystals on the tables!

I didn't want to waste money on flowers either. We are getting married in 15 days (ekkk!) and this is almost what we are having (this is not the final version but only pic i had on the computer), My colour scheme is coffee and burgundy and people can eat them!

I'm having a simple vase with 3 wired orange germinis. Sorry the photo is not great! We'll also have candles, tealights, table crystals and decorative squash.

Well almost.... My Nan made them! I did the design though!!!!

I went to a friends wedding in august and she spent a fortune on these lovely tall vases with flowers, I probably looked up at them from the table once! I didn't want all that waste.

I knew I wanted something very simple and cost effective.

    Candles from ikea

a couple of rolls of ribbon

    ivy picked from garden

OH got the oak wood from the woods then cut it into rings with chainsaw. After weeding the wood will be chopped up and go on the fire.

Ours is a Halloween wedding so probably not really relevant but also didn't want to spend money on loads of flowers so we made these from 99p shop pasta jars, some ribbon, water gel beads and plastic pumpkins lol!
