Frequently Asked Questions
How does this all work then?
It’s really simple and easy. You purchase one of our wedding video packages online, we then send you 3-5 HD video cameras 3 days before your wedding day, along with some instructions and tips on getting great footage. You hand the cameras out to your friends and family and get them to film your big day… from the preparations through to the partying! Once you’ve recovered, you send the video cameras back and we edit a lovely wedding video. We also make the original videos available as a digital download.
Will my HD cameras come fully charged?
Yes, your cameras will be fully charged and formatted ready for use. You can find info on how to re-charge them in the tips and tricks info we send with the cameras.
Do I have to pay for postage?
We pay for the postage (recorded delivery) to get the cameras out to you. We ask that you sort out the postage to get them back to us. Recorded delivery is vital, as they are quite valuable and they will also contain all of your wedding video!
What happens if we lose / damage the camera?
You have to pay for it, but don’t worry, they’re light and quite robust – it’s very rare that we have any problems like this. Also, if you lose one then you will obviously not have all the available footage in your video. We source the cameras from various suppliers, so the cost of a replacement can vary, but it won’t be more then £100 for a replacement camera.
Will I be able to get my original footage?
Yes! We will send you a download link that will allow you to download all of the original footage from your cameras. You will then also have the edited final wedding video.
Will my wedding video have music on it?
Yes! We’ll put some music on your video that we think is suitable. If you have particular requests for music, then send us an email or add it to the order notes when booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
What happens if my camera runs out of battery?
Just plug it into any USB slot on a computer and it will charge up. You can also use any USB charger (like the sort that come with an iPhone).
What heppens if one of my cameras doesn't work?
Please check your cameras are working as soon as they arrive. This is why we send them 3 days early. If there is a problem at this point then we will send a replacement camera out to you. If you leave it until your big day before you check, then it will obviously be too late.
When do I have to send the cameras back?
We ask that you send the cameras back within a few working days after your wedding. If you are going on a honeymoon then please arrange for someone to mail them on your behalf. The return address will be specified in the email you receive once the cameras have been dispatched. Please send them back in their original packaging.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel your order up to 1 months before your wedding, then we will issue a 75% refund, but after 1 months your payment is non-refundable.
Can we send you other footage (from iPhones, cameras etc)?
No, unfortunately we are only able to work with the footage that has been shot on our cameras. This allows us to keep our prices so low – using a variety of other footage would make our editing process and workflow too complicated.
How long before my big day will I receive my HD Cameras?
We send your cameras by next day recorded delivery. We ship them so that they arrive 3 days before your wedding day, which allows for any problems with postage.
How long after the wedding will I get my video?
We aim to get your video done within 12-14 weeks, depending on our workload. However… it could be (and usually is) much sooner.
How long will my video be?
Well…. that depends on you and your guests! If they fill all 4 cameras with loads of great footage and we have lots of material to choose from, then it could be as long as 45 minutes – 1 Hour. If the footage is limited or very shaky, then the video will be shorter. Pick your best people!
Can you ship the cameras overseas?
Yes, if you send us an email first. We are based in the UK. We may need to charge a little more for postage of the cameras but we are happy to work with anyone from any country!
Will my wedding video be beautiful and gorgeous?
We are good… really good, but if the footage on the cameras is of very poor quality, then there is only so much we can do to make it gorgeous! Make sure you give your video friends the tips and tricks that we send along.
What happens if I fill my cameras up?
Your cameras come with a built in memory that gives you 2 hours of footage. If you fill this up too early, then you will need to go back and delete some clips that you might not want. 2 hours per camera is a lot of footage and should be more than ample. Tell your video friends to be selective about what they shoot and not keep the cameras running for long periods of time!
Will my video be available online?
Yes. Your edited version will be in a client page on our website. You can share the link to your client page with as many friends and family as you like.
How will you know the date of my wedding?
When you go through the checkout process, you will be asked what date your wedding is. Please double check you submit it correctly.
How long do you keep my videos for?
We keep your original video files and your edited video file for 1 year after we deliver them. You will be given a download for all of your original video footage, so we recommend that you make a few copies of it so that you never end up losing it.
Can I get my videos on a DVD?
Yes absolutely. DVD’s aren’t part of the Edit Your Wedding package but when we deliver the video (online version and download) we will ask you if you would like any DVD versions which cost £10 per copy. We send a link that allows you to purchase as many as you like using paypal or a credit card.
Do you re-edit videos or make changes?
No. Due to the time it takes to edit videos and then upload the finished products, we can’t then make changes once we have delivered the video. Customers are provided with all of their original footage also, so they will have all of their memories to keep, even if every shot isn’t in the edited video.
