Shattered my wedding dream!! PLEASE AVOID
WARNING TO ALL BRIDE & GROOMS BOOKING A WEDDING VENUE AVOID THIS VENUE IN A BIG WAY.Sent on 06/03/2020
If anyone is thinking of booking their wedding at this venue AVOID AT ALL COST. We booked this venue February 2019 and we were booking the venue for the weekend for 120+ guests. Guests who were travelling from all over the world. When we didn't hear anything we visited the site in October.
To be told that we had been under charged and that there wasn't enough accommodation for all our guests. When our guest had tried to book the lodges they were met by absolutely appalling service. Some of them were even told there was no wedding booked for that date?? When I complained to the owner, via email, about the shambolic service, his reply, which was the height of complacency, that if I was not happy with the service, to book elsewhere and ring for a refund. No apology or remorse. The owner and the wedding coordinator have shown no sympathy or understanding of how this situation has caused so much stress. We sent so many emails to try and resolve the situation, to no avail. His response eventually was 'see previous emails'. All the invites, photographer, registrar etc. have been booked and paid for. I cannot believe that this man is so heartless to shatter my daughters dreams. I do not know how this man is still in business. He definitely has no conscience. We have been told recently that we are not the only family to have had the same experience with weddings planned for 2020. Shame on you Whitsand Bay Fort.

Whitsand Bay last weekend. I can't thank you all enough for making the whole weekend so magical. Kate as organiser was amazing - from their very first contact right through to organising the wedding, the decor, and the lunch the next day. Kate was kind, warm, friendly, professional, patient, and has a great eye for decor. Nothing was too much trouble and she worked so hard to bring their ideas into beautiful reality. She made sure the day went smoothly from beginning to end - thank you so much Kate!
The food was stunning - so many of our guests commented on the generosity of the food provided, but also on the high quality. "This is not like wedding food - this is restaurant food".
The lodges were so comfortable and immaculate, and every member of staff
was great and so professional: - the lovely ladies who prepared the lodges
were so kind and helpful. The lady on reception - so warm and helpful.
The venue itself provided a warm and welcoming and comfortable setting for
our guests, and staff on the day were excellent and made all the guests feel
welcome and cared for. It was clear that they all wanted to help make this
day special - and they succeeded!
Thank you all so much - we have wonderful memories of the whole weekend.

We had time to spend time with our friends and family over the weekend. We had a formal 3 course meal tailored to our needs, which was Devine.
If you are looking for a unique coastal wedding venue, we would definitely recommend the Fort
