Facilities and Capacity

Weald & Downland Living Museum offers a selection of lovely indoor and outdoor event spaces. Woodland blessings are held in the Roots Ceremonial Clearing, in front of a majestic hornbeam tree. Beyond the clearing, past clumps of woodland ash, beech, hornbeam, and sycamore trees, stands the Gridshell. This fine building is constructed from solid oak laths that have been formed into a shell-like shape. Completed in 2002, it was the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. Today, the Gridshell hosts ceremonies and receptions for up to 180 people. Crawley Hall is situated in the heart of the venue’s medieval market square. Surrounded by historic buildings and cobbled paths, this charming timber-framed barn is an ideal choice for more intimate celebrations. Crawley Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies, and it can host parties of up to 50 guests. On-site dressing rooms are also available for you and your guests.

Weald & Downland Living Museum has everything you need to make your day a success.
