Rooted in the famed foothills of Lucca, Tuscany, Villa Michaela is a drop of Italian heaven. Nestled amongst 50 acres of olive groves, gardens, and panoramic views, the 18th C estate is a fairy-tale wedding venue sleeping 39 people with the balance of your guests being able to stay in three excellent bed and breakfasts within 5 minutes walk of the villa.
Please take a moment to watch our wedding video at the end of our entry.
Situated in the middle of the picturesque village of Vorno (home of the inventors of the internal combustion engine Barsanti and Matteucci), Villa Michaela is only five minutes walk from a traditional family owned trattoria/pizzeria where many of our bridal parties book a huge table for the Friday night with a wonderful value set dinner including wine. "Il Bimbotto di Vorno".
We are also lucky enough to have 4 excellent bed and breakfasts within easy walking distance of the villa sleeping about another 50 people and we also have parking for 50 cars .
Just a stone’s throw from the village of Vorno and 25 minutes from Pisa airport, Villa Michaela is conveniently connected and yet exists in a world apart, in a haze of warm stone and the heady perfume of a thousand flowers. Untouched but lovingly maintained since it was built many years ago, it bursts with a unique charm and heritage.
The venue has a range of locations for you to host your day, which can all be decorated to suit your chosen style. The options even include the possibility of saying " I do " in the Villa's own celebrated chapel seating 125 , designed and built by the famed Tuscan architect Lorenzo Nottolini (1787-1851) also responsable for the Lucca acquaduct. The acoustics are second to none and the chapel comes complete with a very superior grand piano. We have local musicians of all types who can attend either the service or the reception / dinner.
For your wedding breakfast and throughout your celebrations, the chefs at Villa Michaela will be on hand to create a gourmet menu, drawing from traditional recipes and the freshest of local produce. You are of course welcome also to organise your own catering /wedding organiser etc and indeed to bring your own chefs if preferred. We offer an all in price for the wedding dinner which includes all tables, chairs, cutlery,
Crockery, glasses, wine, waiters, a delicious three course Tuscan dinner, wedding cake and fruit and cheese platters. Depending on the main courses selected the price varies between euros 75 per head and euros 120 per head .
We also specialise in smaller intimate groups and are able to create a whole weekend activity programme for you and your guests., including a pizza party using our centuries old pizza oven and a trip to Lucca to cycle the walls or dip in to its historical architecture and atmosphere.

Unforgettable Tuscan Wedding
I attended the most picturesque wedding at Villa Michaela over the Summer.

We arrived in Pisa airport & were at Villa Michaela within 30minutes. The Villa & surroundings are truly what dream weddings are made from: Blue tinted mountains, rolling olive groves, the faint smell of rose & fig in the air. We hiked & swam in the huge beautiful pool. The intimate chapel where the ceremony took place managed to fit around 120 of us.
We were walking distance from fab restaurants &
only 5kms to Lucca. The food & wine were spectacular & the house was perfect for a party. I have fallen in love with Villa Michaela and can not wait until we meet again.

It is a privately English owned villa with accommodation for 39 people and a wonderful chapel actually attached to the main villa where the service took place which managed to seat all of us - more than 100 people.
Being a bit of a musician myself I was amazed at the acoustics and the quality of the villa grand piano !
Wonderful views, huge pool, great food and brilliant wedding organiser who went to so much trouble with everything .
Other memorable points were the walk down the little road to the village trattoria which laid on a huge Tuscan banquet for us all at a massive table in the garden
and also we very much enjoyed the ancient pizza oven in the grounds of the villa where a chef whipped us up some amazing and unusual pizzas !
Great place to get married and very close to Pisa airport and Lucca but perfectly secluded in lovely green hills, and olive groves.
