In the depths of Bedfordshire, in the beautiful village of Sharnbrook, you will find Tofte Manor, a magnificent 17th century private home. Set in glorious formal gardens with a further 50 acres of parkland to wander in, it is quintessential England at its best. This perfect venue is exclusively yours for the duration of your booking.
The full sized Labyrinth in the grounds offers a unique venue on which to hold a deeply spiritual and individual Blessing ceremony. Surrounded by huge trees and fields, it is a peaceful and very special place.
Tofte is licensed for civil wedding services and have four different rooms in which your wedding ceremony can take place – the Drawing Room, the Dining Room, the Crystal Room and the Sanctuary.
For large, formal weddings Tofte can accommodate up to 200 people in a marquee on the lawns. For a smaller, more relaxed celebration, the Stables Courtyard is a delightful setting for a marquee wedding of around 120 guests. Conveniently surrounded by the wedding party’s rooms and cottages.
As the gardens darken in the evening, they become even more magical and atmospheric when glowing with flares, twinkling fairy lights or a shower of fireworks. In a quiet area of the grounds, there is a specially built fire-pit where guests can sit long into the night talking.
THE DRAWING ROOM makes a beautiful gallery setting for a civil ceremony, with seating for guests.
THE DINING ROOM in the Manor House is ideal for formal meals. This grand, spacious room measures 11 x 8 metres with high ceilings, chandeliers and large windows overlooking the gardens. The dining table can seat up to 26 guests with the wedding party on a separate, high table. When arranged with smaller tables, the room can accommodate 48 people. This room is licensed for civil ceremonies.
For a more casual family gathering the night before the wedding or breakfast the day after, there is a terrace overlooking the sunken gardens. Here you can have a barbecue, light lunch or breakfast al fresco.
THE CRYSTAL ROOM is a lovely, bright space in the Stables Courtyard, with a view onto a clipped parterre area with central statue. Well appointed for civil weddings or dance space.
THE SANCTUARY is a hexagonal, wooden building hidden in the trees. A mystical room with an artistically vaulted ceiling, a special place for a civil wedding near to the Labyrinth.
ACCOMMODATION: There are 15 bedrooms in total, accommodating up to 35 people. The North Wing of the Manor House has 8 luxurious twin and double rooms for up to 18 people, ideal for the wedding party. The Stables Courtyard accommodates a further 17 people in more contemporary cottages and rooms. Larger groups can stay in luxury yurts or tents in the grounds, with outdoor hot water showers and conveniences. There is the option of additional accommodation (70 beds) in hotels and Bed & Breakfasts in the surrounding areas.
