We cannot - CANNOT - recommend Thicket Priory more highly for your wedding. From our initial viewing right through to the day and all the support afterwards - the Thicket team have been phenomenal. Anna, Becca and the entire team feel like family and without a doubt gave our day so much magic - words can't explain how brilliant they've been. The venue itself is fabulous - it's unique and has so many little quirks: the little pantries, the haberdashery room, steamers for the wedding dress, handwritten room keys and personalised directions to find where your staying, and of course the hidden door! We had total freedom to use the space and create the setting that we wanted. We had a typical Yorkshire summer weather (rain all weekend!) but the venue is such that we didn't need to go outside and could move through the venue without any need to be outside. And the team! Wow. They are a knock out. They gave us ideas and suggestions without any pressure of how we should plan our day. They made the whole planning process fun and even better, once we arrived on the Friday didn't have to lift a finger and could fully relax into the wedding. We can't thank our Thicket family enough for making our wedding weekend so so so magical.

If you’re looking for a unique, magical, utterly stunning wedding venue - then stop looking, you’ve found it. We cannot recommend Thicket Priory more, from our first show around, we were blown away by the beauty and character of the venue, and even more so, how friendly and helpful the staff are.
Our wedding coordinator Jess was amazing in every way, happy to deal with my thousands of questions, never made us feel like anything was too much trouble, and gave us so much helpful advice which proved invaluable to helping our day run as smoothly as possible.
The benefit of being able to have the venue for 2 days is brilliant, it meant we could spend so much time with our guests and haven’t come away worrying there were people we didn’t get chance to speak to.
Every guest has told us how blown away they were by the venue and staff.

Honestly cannot recommend Thicket Priory enough! I know everyone says that their wedding day is the best day of their lives but ours honestly was - it was such a magical weekend and Thicket Priory had a HUGE part to play in this! Becca and the team were / are so amazing! We fell in love with Thicket from our first virtual (covid) tour, it ticked all of our criteria for our wedding and more! We really couldn't fault anything! We want to do our wedding weekend again and again!!

Thicket was the dream wedding venue and I could not recommend them enough. What really makes Thicket so special is the amazing team there. Anna (and the whole team) are brilliant at their jobs and really made the whole process so special and as easy and stress free as possible. From the initial meeting to our wedding day they were attentive, there to answer questions and guide us to the right suppliers. They're just a great laugh to be around too. Anna was there with me the whole way and made planning our wedding so much easier. Nothing was too much and she always knew what to say!

The venue itself is stunning and we loved being able to offer our guests rooms. The attention to detail is excellent and the whole place has been so thoughtfully finished.

What a truly magical, totally unique & stunning venue! When I Googled Top 10 wedding venues in York, the Priory was No 1. I scrolled no further! I knew straight away this was the one. If you want your fairly-tale wedding then this is your place. The house and grounds are so beautiful as well as 'very grand', 'outstanding' & 'classy' (quotes from guests!). They were blown away by how amazing the house is and how it looked, especially the ballroom & morning room all decorated. The Bridal Suite itself is out of this world. All of this coupled with the expertise and help from Anna & Becca then your day will be perfect. Becca looked after us from start to finish and the day ran like clockwork. Can't speak highly enough about this fabulous place and the people that run it. A day to remember. If I could do it all again I really would. Thanks you so so much for making our totally awesome. Thicket are a lovely team who look after you so well throughout the organisation and day of your wedding. The venue itself is so beautiful, and Becca and the rest of the team were unbelievable supportive and kept everything running smoothly. They thought of all the things you don’t even know need doing, and we’re so helpful with all the changes and challenges involved in trying to organise a wedding during a pandemic.

Simply magical. No better way to describe this place. They made the entire Priory feel like it was ours for the weekend. And they were so amazing to work with. The staff was so friendly and hospitable and the management is so welcoming and personable but also professional. This place will always feel like a slice of home to us now. From the sumptuous, tastefully designed interiors which offer such detail, depth and love, with captivating stories to be discovered at every turn and in every room…To the sensationally warm and welcoming team led with complete class and professionalism by the wonderful Anna… Through all the uncertainty and stress, TP remained calm, supportive and flexible to help realise our dream wedding…and wow was it incredible. Such an amazing venue! We were looking for something spectacular for our wedding, a private venue with room for all our guests and Thicket Priory ticked all our boxes!

From the moment you drive down the long, magical driveway, you will fall in love with this place! The stunning, brand new interiors are jaw droppingly beautiful and the views in the grounds, including all the bridges around the lake make for some incredible wedding photos. Inside is light and airy, great for photos. Perhaps the best thing though is that the whole place is yours, you can make it your own home for a day, with no intrusions from other guests and decorate it in your own style!

The bridal suite and grooms suite (yes he gets one too!) are the most gorgeous, spacious rooms I’ve seen! The lighting was brill for makeup and photos!

The team at the venue were so helpful throughout our Covid- delayed wedding, from start to finish, they were friendly, engaged, enthusiastic and nothing was too much trouble. I couldn’t thank them enough for bringing our perfect day to life, after waiting so long!

No words can accurately describe how magical and breathtaking Thicket Priory is! Becca and her team are the most amazing people and have helped us plan an incredible wedding. They have been attentive to our every needs and have made this week end so special! We will forever remember our time there! As soon as we walked into Thicket Priory we knew this was the place for us. It really has the “wow” factor without being OTT. The grounds are beautiful, matched perfectly with the reception rooms and bedrooms this venue offers.
Couples book wedding venues on the team working there-not just the venue itself. Their passion and love for all things romance and Thicket was extraordinary-and they have a great calming nature, very useful!
