Ventnor Botanic Garden is a wedding venue located in Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight in England. For your special day, you are invited to celebrate surrounded by over 33,000 rare, exotic, and beautiful plants. Set against a sub-tropical garden backdrop, weddings at this location are transported to a picturesque paradise. With a combination of outdoor and indoor event spaces, events, both intimate and grand, are welcome here.
Facilities and Capacity
Ventnor Botanic Garden features a variety of spaces for you to choose from for your ceremony, wedding breakfast, and evening entertainment. You can exchange your vows in the New Zealand Garden under blue skies and surrounded by lush greenery. After your ceremony, you can enjoy a catered meal and entertainment in our Palm Garden or book for a marquee to keep you covered in the winter months. Alternatively, the venue offers elegant indoor spaces for you to celebrate your love. Inside the Echium room, you will be amazed by the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Mediterranean pond surrounded by 16-foot-tall Echium flowers. This property also features a range of wedding photo backdrops, such as the Victorian-built tunnel leading to the cliff edge looking over the sea.

For your wedding breakfast, the venue is pleased to arrange in-house catering services with everything from casual buffets to sophisticated plated meals or BBQs. For your convenience, the wedding coordinator is on-hand to ensure that every detail of your big day is accounted for.

The catering menu at this location can accommodate a wide range of tastes and preferences. You and your loved ones can enjoy delectable canapés and treats, all of which are cooked by our in-house Chef, meaning any menu can be bespoke. The venue’s three-course menu includes items such as their signature mushroom risotto, fennel-crusted sea bass, and eucalyptus poached pear.

The best of days!
Not only was the venue incredibly beautiful, but the wedding team led by Anthony, made the event a pleasure to organize, even from our hometown of Sydney (Australia!)
In particular, Anthony went out of his way to ensure we all had the most perfect day. He was so relaxed about everything, which enables us to relax and enjoy our day.
Additionally access and management of suppliers was straightforward and we had plenty of time in advance of the event to decorate the marquee and gardens as we wanted.
Could not recommend more highly. Thank you Anthony and team. We had the very best day!
A wonderful day at a beautiful venue
The whole day can be tailor-made to exactly the wedding you want. We wanted a small wedding, so were able to hire the restaurant (which seats 56 people) for the evening reception. For those who want a larger wedding, there is the option of hiring a marquee. There is a wide range of options for food, from three course meals to BBQs to buffets. We requested a custom menu of vegan sharing platters, expecting this to be expensive or too much trouble for the chef, but it was neither! The chef, Michael, delivered a fantastic spread, everything so delicious and more than we could have imagined.
During the year of planning there was a little disruption at Ventnor - the wedding co-ordinators changed twice and the chef changed once. This did not impact our planning or our day though, as everything was handed over seamlessly and the day we had hoped for was delivered perfectly. Antony and Darren are absolute stars and dealt with a lot of the finer details behind the scenes - sourcing local beer, organising table linen, setting up the music and moving chairs and tables around between all the different parts of the day.
It was absolutely perfect, and if you're looking for an outdoor venue (with backup rooms in case of rain) that will look after you throughout the whole process and cater for your exact requests, this is the place to go!

We particularly liked that we were able to have a reasonably ecological-friendly celebration at an economical fee.
The out-sourced providers fedback on the wedding team's organisation skills, warm and friendly manner, as well as the beauty of the setting.
Many of our guests have already made plans to revisit the Gardens, including our Photography and Videography team, who all stated there was so much more to capture.
We also made use of the convenience of the on-site cottage as our accommodation for the night before ceremony and few days honeymoon - It was delightful.
Highly recommend Ventnor Botanic Garden.
Perfect wedding for us
Antony was brilliant and so accommodating. We did change our guest numbers and they were absolutely fine with it.
The food was amazing and the mocktail was divine.
It did rain on our day but the view was still so beautiful even in the rain! We got some fabulous pictures especially through the tunnel which we got as much access to as we wanted.
